Nevermind i went to my local hobby store hobby people and ask how fast the savage x goes stock he said 40 to 45 mph and he knows this because he has a savage x.If you use logic,a XTM 457 engine with more rpm than the savages engine with a low tooth spur gear and a high tooth clutch bell it will go faster thats just common sense.

Actually more like 30 bone stock, maybe 35 with the optional 18t clutchbell it comes with.

i wonder how the savage x competes with other rcs i mean being that horribly slow.i cant pop wheelies at my house im at 1600 ft.my friend has a tmaxx 3.3 and it hauls but it still wont pop a wheelie.which would be better to rock crawl and jump, the savage x or mgt se?the guy i talked to in hobby people said the savage x should do 40 to 45 out of the box and hes never let me down before.but if the savage does do only 30mph id get the mgt se it cheaper.

it's not horribly slow. 30 mph with a truck with tires that big is a **** to handle at top speed no matter what. you'll be happy with it, it's acceleration that's fun, not top speed.

i cant decide if i should get the mgtse or savage x i want a car that can jump or rock crawl pretty good.mgtse goes 40mph out of the box and its cheaper.how fast do you think any one could get a savage going because i have a track that my freinds and i use with a 200 ft strait away and a 4 foot tall table top jump.i get about 10 ft of air with my revo.i like a mixture of speed and torque because all my friends have huge motors in their revos.i have a radar gun and clocked my friends revo that has .32 in it at 64mph mine was the slowest a 38mph so im always getting bagged on for being the slowest.so i need something that will do over 40 so atleast i wont be the slowest.

the Savage is a great jumper. There is a reason I bought a Savage and not another truck. the MGT is not as tough as the Savvy, but it's still a good truck.

my Savage in its current configuration probably does around 40. believe me, that's fast enough when your Moabs are ballooning in loose dirt.

10 feet of air? that's IT??

and I seriously doubt your friend's revo did 64mph, regardless of what motor he's got in it. ESPECIALLY not with the stock gearing...that .32 would make it go SLOWER than the stock 40ish they go.

If you're so obsessed with top speed, get a touring car.

im not obsessed with speed i just hate being made fun of every race.and yes he did 64 believe me he has 3200 dollars in it hes got lots of money i have the least of everyone,10 feet is the highest my revo can take without breaking anything,it bottoms out at a 4 foot jump and i have stiffened the suspension all the way.whats the highest a savage can take?

I've had my Savage probably 20-25ft...

I know my almost-all-stock Revo could do 30 ft without breaking anything

I love getting big air.
here's the full clip, one more foot and I think it would have stuck the landing. I like using the time line slider to make it go in slo mo and back and forth.

don't take this the wrong way, but i've probably 3x as many deleted posts and warnings as you have posts in total. I'm not saying that me being an OCD poster makes me any better than you, but believe me, i've been edited my fair share of times (well, maybe a few slipped past the mods, but we won't discuss that )

I made some sarcastic comments, but not really anything belittling...

what i do find kinda humorous is that savage_x_basher doesn't have a Savage X...not that there's anything wrong with that, I don't have a Thunderbird (at the moment, working on procuring another one ) but anyhoo...

the Savvy's a great truck, and you can't go wrong with the XTM .247 Pro, XTM .28, or the .457. just invest in some clutchbells and maintain the truck and you'll be happy.

i im getting the savage any day know and all the proffesionals say it goes anywhere between 35 to 45 mph so ill belive them.and whats the specs on the 4.1 engine.im gona get the xtm 457 and get a 20 tooth clutch bell for speed.read the mt chart the the mammoth monster truck goes 50 with a 24.7 which puts out 6,000 less horsepower at 2.6 hp.the 457 is torque but i use common sense and a high tooth clutch bell it should do 40+.
