This model caught my eye a couple of months ago, and they have just become available. The excellent ARF-kit is from KYOSHO and is designed by the 4-time F3A world champion Christophe Paysant-Le-Roux. The Oxalys EP is made for electric and includes a motor mount and battery hatches. This model is available directly from Kyosho America: http://www.kyoshoamerica.com/airplanes/ep/oxalys.asp

The model assembled very quickly, about 8 hours. The model uses all standard size radio gear. I used Futaba equipment as follows:

Aileron: S3151 (Sport Digital)
Elevator: S3151
Rudder: S3151
Receiver: R148DF
Receiver Batt: 5cell-700mAh Nicd

The power system is the new Hacker A50-12S and X-70 Pro controller on Thunder Power 5S-5300mAh Lipoly with a 13x10 APC-E Prop. Lots of power!

Sean

Sean,

What is your all up weight?
I have a glow version nearly finished and got a couple of EP versions at store.
I may build the EP version as well.

Sean,

Any updates on the Oxalys 50 EP? In particular what is your view on the motor battery combination, as it seems over the top for a relatively small model and I would have thought the Hacker A30 might have been a better choice? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Regards

Roger

I have a glow version electrified with an Aveox F12 and an CC80 ESC running on a Kokam 4S 4000mah battery and flies really great I would tend to think Seans setup was a bit overkill for this plane. My plane flies extremely true and has lots of power. I too would like a follow up on this setup.

I have flown this model for the past 2 months and have about 50 flights. The model performs great in all weather conditions, calm or WINDY. At an all-up weight of just under 6lbs, I feel any less than 900 watts would be a major compromise. The model flies fast at part throttle and full throttle is used for up-lines.

I have recently revised the battery to the New Thunder Power 5S-4600mAh Xtreme series. I fly for 10 min doing every Pattern maneuver, vertical up-line snaps, Knife edge loops, and every kind of Humpy-Bump, also easy landings. This model is a joy as it is currently set-up. Here is a summary fo the power system:

Motor: Hacker A50-12S
ESC: Hacker X-70 Pro controller
Batteries: Thunder Power 5S-4600mAh xtreme
Prop: APC-E 13X10

Full throttle amps: 55amps
Full Throttle watts: 1000watts

Price of Motor set w/prop adapter+ ESC= $249.99
Price of New Thunder Power 5S-4600mAh xtreme=$249.99

this is the best power for $500 available, Low weight, High Power, no maintenance and all supported here in the USA.

Best Regards,
Sean

Sean, nice price for the motor set, which I am also considering for my Dymond Ford Flivver. Where did you buy this motor set?

Bryan - If I'm not mistaken Sean owns AeroModel, the USA importer for Hacker. Agreed that is an excelent set-up for $500

Does anybody know if this plane is still available? I went out to fly my Inspire 60 today and couldn't get the wing to stop fluttering in down vertical maneuvers even with prop brake on. I'm looking at other suitable airframes for my Hacker A50-12S/CC60/6S4200 setup. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. John
