does anybody use break-in fuel? or do you just use regular nitro fuel to break in a new/fresh engine?

you are suppose to break an engine in with the fuel you plan to run it with, so just use regular fuel

Says who and why? I add castor oil to bring oil content to 20% or more and I use the lowest nitro available. Nitro does nothing for break in so why burn it?

New engines, usually come with ,some Literature, and a manual/instruction sheet..Read it ,and, follow what it says`,You won`t go wrong that way..No paper work??Locate the manufactures web site, and look for their instructions for your model/type engine there. No Info there?? Then e-mail them.If it`s a new engine it probably has a Warranty..Follow their instructions ,and you`ll still have a waranty, after it`s broken-in.That`s your safest bet. What engine, is it your talking about ,anyway.?? Lots of advice being given, but more facts ,would be good.Is it a gas engine ?You don`t need Nitro for that.My Guess would be it`s a glow engine because you mention Nitro, but ,It`s only a guess..Good luck !!

..Nissan make sure,to find out, if they`re recomending ,20% nitro,or, 20% oil content. It`s important ,and, up to you ,to be certain too.. I `m not certain, what the Cool power, fuels contents are ,so check it out,Dude

They use break in fuel in model airplanes, with the high performane and short life of car engines, I doubt it would be of much value in that venue.

I would not use cool power for car engine break in. It is an all synthetic lube fuel and ABC type car engines need to have some castor in the blend to maximize longevity. If cool power is available to you localy then Omega should too, it has castor in it and would suffice as a decent break in fuel. You could also use any of the popular blends of car fuel since all that I know of contain castor oil. Most car fuels contain less total oil content than airplane fuels, just be sure you do not run an all synthetic in there.

I run my engines on the same thing I break them in on. I just broke in a new Saito 50 today. Ran it on 12.5 Nitro 20% 50-50 oil. Excellent running engine and if it's like the rest will last 20 years. I'm running an old bolt on head Saito 45 that has run on this blend since I bought it 25 years ago. Changed the bearings once in that time. Nothing else.
