There are none out there yet finished except mstroh.

But I can tell you it's the Extra 260 with different wings. That plane is fully shaken down, if you are worried about setup or if the plane has some problem, don't. It's the exact same plane that dozens of guys are flying.

Aerodynamically it's a little better at 3d and a little less willing to fly in a perfectly straight line without corrections, that's pretty much it.

I'm trying to decide between the 33% Extra 260 or the Edge, I have a BME 105 waiting
for a new home.....

Just starting to fly a little 3d this year, been flying the BME Yak with a DA 50.

Anyone flying the Edge yet?

Thanks,

Roger [that]

Thanks Tom.....

Could you explain your comment "a little less willing to fly in a perfectly straigt line without corrections"....

Also.... what color schemes are available on the Edge and the Extra?

The rudder is not the only thing that keeps a plane going straight, there is also resistance to turning from the fuselage and on some planes from the wings.

Most aerobatic planes have a slight sweep to the leading edge of the wing. When the plane yaws to the right, for example, the left wing then causes more drag on the left side and tends to pull the plane back into straight ahead flight. This helps when you are trying to draw a perfectly straight line, and can be a problem when you want to do 3d stuff where you need the plane to rotate in the yaw axis.

An Edge has a straight leading Edge and therefore dose not have this yaw damping. For 3d it's better, for IMAC this is not helpful.

Hi Tom,
May I say the new WH Edge 540 33% is an out standing looking plane. I just checked out the demo video from DOD. Looks like I may have to save up my penny's to put toward your 33%,
I especially like the Yellow and black verion. I'll keep you in mind when I go to step up to a bigger air craft. Im still having a great time with my Baby Edge right now.
You wouldn't happen to be selling a pull behind trailer to go along with the 33% Edge, Ha Ha, Don't think it will fit comfortably in the back of my truck going down the road.

Just to keep the thread alive, I too have been watching Kevins progress over on DOD and the only good way to explain it is WOW.

I do have this plane and have the 3w 80xi-cs engine, header and canister installed. The servos, extensions and arms are here and next week I will be calling Tom to order the HW kit, CF tube(s) and main gear and ordering the Fromeco gear as well, then I'm taking a week off work and gonna marathon assemble this bad boy. Oh yea, BadBradGraphics has a nice package for this plane. I'll "dry" assemble the wings, stabs and rudder and install the graphics over the weekend and snap some pics.

We are running out of flying time up here, soon all I will have is weekends because I will be heading to work in the dark and leaving work as it gets dark, unless I play hookie so I'm on a mission here to get this ad boy flying before it gets too cold.

Hi Bubba,
It shur is a great looking plane. I still have my Baby Edge and been flying the heck out of it this summer.I also have a set of Bad Brad graphic's on my Baby Edge, the plane was great looking before but with the graphic's it make it kind of a one of a kind. Looking forwar to seeing your pic's of your 33%
Can you elaberate on how much money you will be putting into the plane, and also how will you be hauling it around?

I figure it's gonna be aound 2200.00 once it's all done. I have a Ranger shortbed with the tailgate extention. I just put the rudder on, taped a 4 inch spinner to the front and sat it on it's gear in the truck and it will fit, barely. It would be the only plane that would fit in there.

It's soon time to do a trailer because I really hate taking just one plane since the field is 22 miles away.
