I have an HPI RS4 with colored fuel lines, fail safe, and red Viper body, pretty much stock. Car has seen about 7 tanks of fuel so far. I want to upgrade it for a better "road course car". The guy at my LHS is pretty reliable. He gave me two options. First, I could spend $300 on a .18 turbo motor, starter box, racing clutch, new pipe, header, and springs, or he said buy the Ofna CD3 R. The car he showed me was "race ready" with starter box, fail safe adjustanle everything just about, (steering and suspension). Just need my fuel and batteries. Even comes with a pull starter on it or the box. He siad he would sell it to me for $350 RTR. Which route should I go, fix up the HPI, or get the Ofna which needs fewer upgrades?

I agree that you should go with the ofna too.

The Ofna from what I have researched is more "race ready" than the HPI. The engine has higher rpm's too. The RS4 I think is like 30,000, and the .12 is like 44,000.

the 18ss claims 40,00rpm but i think it really only gets to 35k, and i think the ofna might spin to 40k max

i just bought a cd3 pro from my previous experience with an LD3, and all i have to say is that ofna touring cars are great bashers (durable) as well as very capable racers. the cd3 pro rtr is a great choice because it does come with many accessories. while you may end up upgrading a few chassis and drivetrain items as your skills progress, you are starting off with a great package.
