Hey everyone,
I'm debating whether to get a mini, just to use when my nitro is down. I'm thinking of purchasing the RC18T Factory Team Kit with some upgrades. Here's the list:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKAP3&P=ML (I'll start with that)
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXN679&P=ML (For the steering)
http://b-p-p.com/proddetail.php?prod=da_%23mamba8000combo (for a motor and ESC)
I don't have the link for the 3-cell battery I was planning to purchase for $40 on RCU.
I have an extra transmitter that I can use for a radio.
Will this setup create any kind of problems I should be informed about? And do the mini's really get kind of "boring" after a while? Thank you for your input and I'll post anything else I'm skeptical on. Thanks!

Minis are quite fun. The Mamba 8k has such ridiculous power that it creates all kinds of diff issues (Strips the diff gears). I am working through those issues right at this moment. If I had the chance again, I would go with the 5400Kv or the 6800kv. If you get any of them, get the castle link foir programming, it is well worth it and many features that you cannot access any other way.

The 81 servo is not a direct fit (I believe, but am not positive) and requires modification to fit.

Don't forget the receiver.

I got into mini's for the same reason, plus hop ups are cheaper, and they can out run a nitro! But not out bash one, list looks good though, assuming you have a LIpo capable charger already?

I do have an extra receiver/transmitter to use for this mini. And I have yet to purchase a Lipo capable charger, but I think my friend has one that he'll be willing to let me borrow. What battery do you guys think, and 2 or 3 cell for the RC18T?

You could use either a 2 cell or a 3 cell lipo. With the 3 cell you will be doing wheelies everywhere and will have increbible runtime. The 2 cell won't be as powerful and it won't have quite as much runtime.

steven you should stick with the 5400kv and the 3 cell lipo i showed you. even though it wont be as fast as mine , you will still have fun without the diff issues.

Then I'll go with the Mamba 6800 KV, with a 3 cell li po battery. I should probably order before I go on vacation, I need something to do on my vacation to Canada while my nitro stays at home.

The one you want is a kit, and it'll take you some time to get it together especially if you've never put an RC together before. So you won't be able to run it when your in Canada unless you work that fast.
