ok but i was just giving a point out, and that would be the coolest job to have!!! hands down

I work at a hobby shop and all we sell is traxxas so I've seen every car they've made. I've raced a 4-tech with a 2.5r and I could beat him all day around the track and it was pretty even when it came to a drag race. Now i've seen and driven the 3.3 and yes if you could keep the thing in a straight line it would beat most modifides right out of the box, but in my opinion traxxas made a bad move by putting that kind of horse power in a car that can't handle it. They should have spent more time redesigning the car to handle better. And the way I interpreted it was that my car (modified), wasn't as efficient as a stock 4-tech.

Well I think people that can not keep a car in a strait line they are doing something wrong, and a 4-tec with foam tires handles very very good. Like I said I can easily win a race to my friend with his rs4 with the O.S. .18 motor specially in the drag race and all obiously top speed making turns I noticed that 4-tecs don't fish tale after exiting a turn as easy as a NTC3 or an RS4. My 3.3 4-tec smashed on a RS4 yesterday that had a 3.3 traxxas motor it wasn't even funny LOL I didn't even take out my 4-tec pro (the one that is all carbon fiber and has all the upgraded parts from traxxas) with .18tx Sirio it wasn't even worth getting it dirty!!! not to let you down Rush but that 4-tec pro I have, killed my friend's RS4 with your same motor by about 2.5 full car lanes in just 350ft and this car has only a top speed of 55mph it's got the biggest spur gears traxxas makes for 4-tecs the acceleration it's insane!!! it's quicker on the take off than my 3.3 by about 1.5 car lanes

Is the only upgrade on your friends car an engine swap?

If your friends ntc-3 would fish tail exiting a turn then he did not know how to set it up properly. It is true that foam tires will help the handling of a 4-tech but foam tires will not make the 4-tech handle as well as a properly set up nitro tc-3. 4-tech center of gravity is too high for it to handle as well as a nitro tc-3. The 4-tech is a parking lot basher not a true race - car.

Well I have close to a grand put into my rs4, but most of those upgrade parts went to suspension and handling. Yea I could gear it for top speed and keep up with a 4-tech 3.3 in a straight line, but my intrests are in winning races and not in going fast in a straight line.

Have any of you 4-tech owners put a big block .21-.26 in your 4-tech?? If so what kind of speed did you reach?? How did it handle? Was the modification worth the effort??

Nitrohead I've been wanting to try the .23 RB I have it brand new in it's box but I just want to wait till my 3.3 gives out but these motors last for ever.... I might just slap it in due the break in and try it for a while tho I can't wait to put it in the 4-tec if I don't like it then it's 100% guaranteed to work on my T-maxx 3.3 but then I'm still waiting for that motor do die out too... LOL damn it!!!

I dont understand whats the arguement about. Just take the car to a drag strip and radar it

Plus we all know speed isnt everything. 4tecs wouldnt stand a chance on a track with real racers.
