Thanks, Larry. The B46 is perfect for this model, that's for sure.

FWIW, I also tried for the first time the carbon fiber carb plate from Troy Built Models, in lieu of the static nipple and fuel line running back inside the fuselage. The engine runs perfectly in all attitudes so I guess it works, though it's hard to say if it would have worked with nothing, but at least there's another option.

The plate material really doesn't matter (as long as it doesn't melt) but it has some aluminum spacers that hold it about 3/32" above the little pressure equalizing hole in the carb.

I am going to use a Dubro 688 anti-vibration engine mount for my 46...Any tips I need to know to make a template for it?

Personally, I would call Scott and get one of his aluminum mounts. Any fiber mount, vibration or not is going to take a beating. The motor will get smoother after your first few tanks. I think you will end up with a headache with that mount.

No snow here at present, but if there were I'd still be flying with skis!

Flying tomorrow anyway, with a high of 34*F and very light winds. Just gotta know how to dress properly for the cold weather.

There's no snow here either, we got a couple of inches a week ago, and there's just a few lumps left in the shadows and stuff. I guess we're "whipped" down here... if its windy or cold, stay home. There are still many weekends during the winter when you can get out that it just doesn't make sense to fight bad weather.

I'm going out on Sunday for the first time in about 2 weeks. I just finished up an Aeroworks biplane and have only flown it one day. I also finished an Extreme Composites Edge 540 that's never been off the ground yet. Gotta get those dialed in before Springtime.

As for the Wild Hare, I guess that was the 28% size? I don't know the weight or wingspan on that plane. It will probably fly with the 46, but probably wouldn't be a 3D machine. The 46 certainly has enough torque to get it up and around a few circles.

Scott... I'm thinking about putting the 46 in a side-mount profile plane... do you guys have (or could you make) a side mount muffler the 46? Just checking.

i can make a muffler however you need it. I made one for my buddies 50 that was in a profile. It is just a matter of moving the outlet pipe.

I went looking for this post to ask the same question reyn just asked!

I am thinking of putting 46 in the OMP 80 inch fusion profile. This plane has 1360 squares of wing area and should come in around 13 lbs.
