I have seen many post on the 26, 40 and now 60cc Brillelli motor but very little on the 46cc. Anyone out there using this motor and in what plane. Actually, I have a problem picking a plane for this motor: thinking about a QQ 85" Yak or a PA Edge 540. The Yak is my first choice since I can obtain it locally from the manufacturer but question whether the 46 is enough (this is a DA-50 plane).

Anyone have any comments on the 46 or plane recommendations? I want a highly aerobatic/3D plane. I am currently flying a Ultra-RC Giles 202 and a OMP 90 Fusion. Both of these planes are glow so this will be my first gas.

I was looking at the 46cc but opted for the 40cc instead. mainly just to keep the cost down. I was looking at putting the 46cc in the WH YAK 54 80". I'm going to put the 40cc in either the WH Edge 540 73" or the QQ YAK 54 73". Just not sure yet but I emailed Scott earlier and ordered the 40cc.

Status: offline 		I got a H-9 EXTRA 260, it also use's DA 50 for one of the engine options, i purchased a 46 ei for the plane,waiting for its arrival. How can ya possibly go wrong for probably 95% or so of the power for half the price,with no xtra items to buy to make it ready to go.This is my first gas larger scale plane,and everything i've read about Brillelli engines, not one complaint in the bunch. Cant wait to get it bolted on and in the air!

Status: offline 		46 will fly the Hanger 9 260 very well.

I have a WH Yak for sale in the classified for a reasonable price.. $650 rtf less engine. That will come in around 14.5 punds and the 46 should fly that well.

For extreme 3D you want to be around 12-14 pounds witha 46. I flew the 46 on my Patty at 16 pounds.. flew well but not 3D save 2 pounds and the world is yours

Status: offline 		I ordered the 46 e i from Scott and have about another week or so before I can mount it on my Great Planes Ultimate. It will turn out about 16 pounds . Has anyone else mounted one on an ultimate out there? I'm not into 3-D but I wouldn't mind doing I- Mac routines at my club for fun. Thanks

Status: offline 		Dont know the weight of the 46,but if it dont weigh more than 4lbs i'll be around 13lbs 9oz area. That should about do it i believe.

Status: online 		I have one in my Christen Eagle (Great Planes)... Love that engine!! Runs like a charm. I opted for the polished 46 with polished rear dump muffler. Not to mention Scott is one of the best people to deal with/talk to. I'm seriously considering another 46 for my GP Ultimate now.. and rid myself of my stinkin glow problems

Status: offline 		i just got my 46cc in the mail today but when i looked how to mount it i was dumb founded what engine mount can i use to mount it. this is going in a top flite 1/5 scale p-51.

Use Hanger Nine metal beam mounts for 1.2 to 2.2 engine. I bought some at Horizon for $9.95 a pair.

Status: offline 		I ordered dubro 688, has rubber involved to help with the vibration. I believe Scott told me it helped quite a bit with the Christian Eagle he has in the video.

Status: offline 		The problem with the Dubro mount is that the elastomer bushings wear out in a hurry when used with an engine the size of a 46cc Poulan. Be sure to buy some replacements. Remember, this mount was originally designed for relatively small 1.20 glow engines. Not 2.7 gas engines! <G>

I'm using the Horizon mounts. They work fine and have no parts to replace.

Status: offline 		On our Christen Eagle the rubber bushings lasted a season. I would replace them every season for sure. I think they are cheep and the vibration isolation is worth it IMO. The Dubro mounbts are also easier to work with when mounting the 46 and I believe they are stronger than the H9 mounts, but either work well. I just know after running th Dubro mounts on the CE and feeling very little vibration in the plane from the engine, I was sold on them.

Status: offline 		Just recieved my 46 in the mail, very impressed. Scott you guys do A+ work and the info you inclosed will be very helpful. Hope to get it mounted and ready to fly by Sunday morning if I can get caught up with things around here first. Will keep everyone updated. Phil

Status: offline 		I just received my 46 this week. Going to put it in a GP Yak 54. I plan on using the Dubro mounts and Xoar 22x8 prop.
