Mikey, I didn't take any offense to your statement . I'll be checking my plane again soon and knowing ahead of time what the requirements are will be valuable.
Thanks

Tom, your point is well taken. I have no problem adding a canister if it became necessary. For the foreseeable future the field I fly at is not real close to any residential area (mostly Farm and Industry) so for me the canister didn't offer enough benefit for the extra cost over the wrap around style. I agree 100% that as a group we that use R/C flying fields need to do what we can to keep the non-flying public happy. I also belong to a gun club and believe me I KNOW what problems a single unhappy neighbor can be!!

Made up the fuel stopper for the tank and installed it. I'm trying some new fuel line from K&S here is a description from Tower Hobby.

FEATURES: A non-hardening transparent fuel line.
Very flexible.
For glow fuel or gasoline use.
Spool of fuel line is packed in a box.
INCLUDES: 25' of Medium Sta-Flex Fuel Line.
SPECS: Outside Diameter: .190"
I'm using it for the main line inside the tank and all 3 lines outside. Inside the tank for the fill/unfill line I'm using Aerotrend Easyflex Gas/Diesel tubing. It's some what stiff so when I curved it the opposite way it normally wants to go, it stay's nicely in the lower left area of the tank with no clunk to get in the way of the main fuel line (see photo).

hey Guys,
Well i got 3 more flights on her tonight!!! after moving the igniton battery up on the motor box and adding one ounce of lead on the box she flew tons better but think i might still need to add maybe one or one and a half more of lead!!! right now she is balancing at 3"!!!! thats half a inch farward of the minimm. but man is she getting sweeter and sweeter everytime i made an adjustment!!!! during the first four flights the da50 was running really fat, after the 4th flight we leaned the low end just a touch, well the 5th flight she just didn;t feel like it was making any power, so we leaned the high end and she got better then before the 7th flight we leaned the low end a touch and the 7th flight she was really was putting out some power!!! but was still pretty fat on high and low ends!!!! probally 3 more gallons and it should be ready for a 23x8 prop and 50:1 and should be really pulling the extra around!!!! but all in all i'm just a few more adjustments from having her ready for some imac contest flying!!!!! after today shes a contendor but we think after putting a little more lead upfront and some adjustments on throws and expo shell be a champ!!!

Does anyone have a good source for graphics for the plane. Mine came without the Wild Hare RC on the wing and I would like to replace that. I seem to remeber a web site that had sheets of just the Wild Hare logo but for the life of me cannot find it again. Thanks.

i'm going to redo the Extra 300 logo and the WH. i'm going to get them done in hologram. i've already had a da logo with red hologram flames coming off it and jr logo done all in hologram colors. and they are great looking. Kirby's Custom Graphics do all my work. do a goggle search on them and you will find the address. their prices are very good for how great their graphics are!!!!

Hey, WW2 Ace: I see that you did a 3-line stopper. I used to do that too but I tried a 2-liner on my last plane and discovered that I've been wasting my time putting in that extra line!! Naturally, I assure you are using a DA 50 or so gas engine. Since the gassers have a diaphram pump, the fuel will not go into the carb so no danger of flooding the carb. I believe that Tom's hardware package has one. Two lines are much easier to use - all you have to do is put either a "Y" or a "T" in the intake line and you in business.

Bob, I chose to use the 3 line system because there are no extra connections / cuts in the main fuel line that can cause leaks. Just a straight piece of fuel line from the tank to the carb. On this plane the tank is close to the carb so the main line is only about 10" long. During the winter I may modify the canister tunnel so I can move the tank so it is centered on the CG like the Edge and I may go to 2 line system then. I also want to do some trials on the K&S fuel line to see if it gets soft or brittle before I employ a 2 line system.

I agree. That's why I dispensed with the 3 line system a long time ago. You really need a second clunk in the tank to pull all the fuel out and it often gets in the way of the normal pick up line, adds weight and complexity where it isn't needed, and requires more work, time, and materials.

What's with the fuse/canopy x-bracing on my plane? I thought it was just the design until I saw the new 300 featured in this thread. It's not a huge deal but it does look a little goofy? Mine is the red/white/blue, obviously.

The x brace offers some rigidity to the structure. You can always cut it out or in the hatch you can cover it over with balsa.
