Status: offline 		I have the "ling cat" from avia-richmodel. It is extremely light weight as the bare airframe weighs about 12 oz. I am wanting the larger kee cat and have spoke with a vendor that is trying to get some in. Initial report was they are not set up for retracts despite the photos but then I was informed a while later that they were built with retracts. The specs are fairly similar between the avia-richmodel and nitroplanes as far as dimensions go. I am hoping the avia version comes out lighter than the listed weight as there is a 2 pound difference between the two. I never realized the nitro version had a glass fuse. Knowing how heavy chinese glass work is I am hoping the weights will be fairly close between the two. The AUW for the ling cat was 26 oz. on their site but I could easily see it coming in at 22 oz. or less without too much work so hopefully their other weight predictions prove to be a bit overstated as well. I would love to see some photos of this version after completion as well!

Mine is the 51" model. It is much bigger than I thought. I think you could power it with a MW54 or a P60. It would be extremely fast. It is bigger than the Savex L-39 and I have heard that several people have put a 54 on them.

I will put some more pictures out when I get further along.

MY spin on "smaller" turbine (MW44) powered planes.
They get small real fast. My Reaction 44 (72% size R54) has a 56" W/S and 750 square inches of wing weighing 9 1/2 pounds dry. I'm CONSTANTLY moving the throttle up and down to keep it at a reasonable speed and visiblity. This 51" W/S at low to mid 600 squares will cook with even the 8# MW44. Keep it below 9 pounds dry and you'll have a ball! "If only it had retracts!"

Status: offline 		papasmurf or anybody else where did you get the "ling cat" from. I need a little .46-.90 size low stre$$ beater jet. But retracts would be a nice option. If I don't here something soon about the ling cat I'll probally just order one of the baby bobcats.

Yes indeed! 800 squares great for grass ops. 850 a bit better! With the newer MW44 at 10# thrust...OH BOY!

I heard a rumor that there is a "infant boomerang" in the works for the MW44 sized turbines for this Fall/Winter. Hope Alan keeps it sized right in the 750 to 850 range.

Status: offline 		The "ling cat" is 32" wingspan. I got it at www.ejf.com

I have toyed with the idea of robart 1/2A retracts but if you use all the servo location provided that comes to between 6 and 7 servos. The plane is amazingly light and would work really well as a pusher or EDF. The larger version with the retracts is not available....yet.

Status: offline 		well guys i got mine today and the first thing i did was break out the chainsaw, ripped open one wing and this is what i got, allot of ribs,the rear spare, and more ribs, the wings are built for speed, i haven't seen any retract yet so here is my first wing a with 605 spring-air retract rough'et in, in the nose i will have nose gear retract forward it just seems like the best idea with the empty space up there, well back to the other wing.

Status: offline 		Looks good topper. Well guys just ordered mine. For that price, don't think you can go wrong. BTW its a little cheaper to order over the website. The website price is $129 but I only had to pay $17 for shipping, as opposed to the $119 + $30 shipping here on RCU. Can't wait till it comes in, got a .46ax and GMS 76 laying around, now just need to decide which one to use in it.

I just got mine today... it needs two mini servos int the tail booms for the elevator.
A reversing Y cable or mix elev. to an open channel for the second servo.
I may cut into the stab and put a Hitec thin wing servo in it.
the rudders will not require a reversing Y.

now to see if I can get a Weston Pipe for a Dub Jett 60LX FIRE.

Status: offline 		The Wren 44 (8lb thrust version) flies the Jetco very well at 62" wing span and 12lbs dry.It will certainly be plenty for the Bobcat. It will only need 32oz of fuel for 8 minutes. My only reservations would be the strength and durability of the model to see if it will stand up to heavy landings. (What? you guys don't make any?)

Status: offline 		I ordered mine on monday, shipped on Tuesday, recieved it on Friday. I have only looked in the box, and have not unwrapped anything, but the quality seems much better than the previous NP planes I have purchased and the instruction manual is much better. One could probably retrofit this plane for retracts, and maybe even a small turbine. I purchased the Blue version and it looks very nice.

Status: offline 		Anybody actually flown this thing yet??? Please share with us your choice of mini servos for the elevator and any mods to strengthen that area. I'd like to know where we can get the Keecat (bigger and come with retracts) here in the US. I cannot locate a distributor for that bird.

all formers are laser cut and appear to be glued in well. The fuse seems a bit heavy glass is a lot thicker than My Kangaroo. Also the is a plywood plate on the inside at the wing root. Holes note cut for the servo leads but they the cut lines are molded in, the anti rotation pin hole for the wing needs to be drilled too. on a bathroom scale the airframe componets weight 3.5-4.0 pounds.( less radio and engine)

Status: online 		I contacted Richmodel Works Sales Dept. about the Keecat-65 and they said they wont have any until next month. I asked them about a dealer in the U.S. and they wouldn't elaborate. They'll let me know once the planes are available for sale next month.

This and the Bobcat Jet 50-51" from NitroPlanes are pretty nice looking sport jets for testing servo equipment before putting them in a turbine jet. I think I might just buy one, but I'd like to see more pictures of the airframe, wings, etc... Keep'em coming guys!

Status: offline 		I have been speaking with a vendor who is supposed to be getting the larger "kee cat". It seems to still be a few weeks off. I am hoping it will not be too difficult to electrify and will not be much/if any heavier than the glass version.

Status: offline 		News on the lil bobcat. Nitro planes just called me and said that they are all out of the yellow. Which I had ordered Since they only have a few of the white ones left I went on ahead and told them to send me the white one, as I know how these shipments from china can sometime get really delayed or end up not ever showing up. So I figured if I want one of these might as well get it now even if they don't have the color I wanted. Once again there is only a few of these left so if your thinking about getting one hurry up and order....

Status: offline 		All you guys that are asking questions about the Bobcat -50 just need to pony up and buy yourself one. If you're flying jets you surely can afford a $140 for this little plane. At least the prop guys at your local club field won't hate you as much. Hehe

Seriously though it is really a nice plane for the money. The construction seems to be sound and it's attractive looking. Should fly nice in the air and be less of a hassle for the days when you just want to go out and punch some holes in the sky.
