caiman, the answers to your question...NO and YES.....AND on the canopy, you really need to use screws because you will need to remove it for maintance.

Do you mean it can't be flown with the 46FX, or just that it's not the best choice?

thanks for the reply Stick Jammer, i found the corect CG by reading most of the forums here.
he needs to know the wings get glue on correct?, also the servo mounting ect, still it would be nice to have the manual just so he can have an idea of where things are to be installed.....

    thanks for the reply

I think you guys need to relax about the engine choice/speed deal. I used a doppler program on my original bobcat video and found the top speed to be 108 with a still breaking in engine set very rich on a 12x6 zinger. I have since put on a pitts muffler and switched to an 11x7 APC and it is much faster now. BTW my bobcat is without retracts. Others have mentioned the limitation for speed on this airframe has more to do with the airframe not the engine.

This is by the way a tower .75. I have done the math earlier in this thread look for yourself.

There have been a few reports of the Bobcat 50 being flown with a .46FX but I have to agree with Meekskin, you will likely be disappointed with the performance. On the wing attachment question, I used two 6-32 screws and blind nuts per wing but I did away with the anti-rotation rod. I also added a landing gear strap close to the trailing edge on the bottom of each wing.

I'm not a fan of gluing the wings on this plane for the simple reason of maintenance and/or repairs. Servo mounting is pretty straight forward and to be honest the manual isn't really a lot of help if you don't have some experience. I suppose you could probably contact Nitroplanes to see if they could send you a manual.

I installed just one screw and blind nut on each wing, between the antirotation rod and the big tube used to attached the wings to the fuselaje. The problem is that I had to enlarge the antirotation rod holes on the wings a little bit since otherwise the wings were not parallel to each other and the airplane would bank as if you were applying ailerons.

My concern is if one (well tighted) screw would be enough to prevent the wings from rotating (due to the enlarged antirotation rod hole).

About the 46FX engine, do you think I would risk stalling the airplane with that engine, or the lack of performance you talk about is more like for very fast flying?

I hope my explanation was clear enough.

    Thanks.

In my opinion the 46 doesn't have the necessary power to fly a plane of this size. Even without retracts, the bobcat is designed to fly on the fast side. Try to get at least a 52 or 61 size engine and you will like the flying.

Yes, I think that would be a good engine, however, for a lot less money, you can get a Magnum 52 which I think moves the bobcat with very good speed. Use a 11X7 pusher prop on both engines and you will be a happy flyer.

I have an Os 46 with an 11x6 p and it fly's at a very average speed of 54 mph. I now have a 55 ax on it and waiting for my thrust muffler to come in. I am hoping this will get me around 100 mph...
