Was just looking at my Bobcat and wondered if anyone had thought about reshaping trailing edge of wing to give prop a little more clearance, mine is within10mm at tip of prop and this must account for some of the excessive noise the plane generates.

Is it just me or did the manufacturer of the NitroPlanes Bobcat 50 listen to the suggestions. There is blind nut in the center of the wing to allow for them to be removable or is to tighten the wing to fuse so the glues gets a good seal?

Let me know if I'm dreaming to think they modified the production to allow the wings to be removable from the factory. I got mine in June.

I actually think Nitromodels is pretty active when it comes to reading the threads on their products including this one.

Yes with a few other planes from them, I've also seen suggestions from these forums appear on newer revisions.

Case in point, the Polecat 50's horizontal stab...

Thanks StickJammer. Will I have to modify the elevator servo bay to fit a standard?

Sorry for the delayed response, been offline for awhile. Yeah, the servo bay needs to be slightly enlarged and 3/32" shims added to the surface for enough depth to clear a standard servo. Pretty easy stuff.

Don't be thinking you are getting a BVM Bobcat for half price! It may look a bit like a BVM Bobcat but it's much smaller & much poorer quality.

Oh, and it's not half price, it's one thirty ninth of the price! (Bobcat 50 = $99, BVM Bobcat = $3895)
But, I can see how people consider both good value for money, just depends on what you want. - John.

Can anyone help. I purchased the bobcat 50 (51"wing) and have problems out of the box. Its states retracts installed: thought i had a bonus not expected. Instead I have a fuse cut out and one wing cut out for retracts from factory. Included landing gear is for fixed so it wont fit in cutouts. Second wing wasnt cutout but it shows it is ready under the skin. Felt heavy and wanted to save weight so bought carl goldberg mechanical retracts but they are thicker than the wing so not any use. Can anyone tell me what retracts fit the plane? What servos work best? anyone else have the instructions that work for this? the included show the bobcat 52 but parts on downloaded instructions were for a plane not having cutouts so the included landing gear is junk for this plane. Would appreciate any help offered on this...Thanks

Yeah, that box has stated that retracts are installed since they first came out. I used Spring air 100 series, and others have used the 300 series.
Go with air, mechanical are to much trouble.

    Have fun!
