I have the "ling cat" from avia-richmodel. It is extremely light weight as the bare airframe weighs about 12 oz. I am wanting the larger kee cat and have spoke with a vendor that is trying to get some in. Initial report was they are not set up for retracts despite the photos but then I was informed a while later that they were built with retracts. The specs are fairly similar between the avia-richmodel and nitroplanes as far as dimensions go. I am hoping the avia version comes out lighter than the listed weight as there is a 2 pound difference between the two. I never realized the nitro version had a glass fuse. Knowing how heavy chinese glass work is I am hoping the weights will be fairly close between the two. The AUW for the ling cat was 26 oz. on their site but I could easily see it coming in at 22 oz. or less without too much work so hopefully their other weight predictions prove to be a bit overstated as well. I would love to see some photos of this version after completion as well!

Hal Very cool setup. Is yours the 51" model? Seems to be a fairly good size. I wonder if I could power one with a Mark II.

Mine is the 51" model. It is much bigger than I thought. I think you could power it with a MW54 or a P60. It would be extremely fast. It is bigger than the Savex L-39 and I have heard that several people have put a 54 on them.

Folks, MY spin on "smaller" turbine (MW44) powered planes. They get small real fast. My Reaction 44 (72% size R54) has a 56" W/S and 750 square inches of wing weighing 9 1/2 pounds dry. I'm CONSTANTLY moving the throttle up and down to keep it at a reasonable speed and visiblity. This 51" W/S at low to mid 600 squares will cook with even the 8# MW44. Keep it below 9 pounds dry and you'll have a ball! "If only it had retracts!"

Hi Dave, I know you do have experience with this size plane and the wren 44 turbine. I would really like to see this model in a 800 to 1000 sq' size for a 44. It sure is sharp and the price is right. We got a few coming in out here so we'll see!~)

papasmurf or anybody else where did you get the "ling cat" from. I need a little .46-.90 size low stre$$ beater jet. But retracts would be a nice option. If I don't here something soon about the ling cat I'll probally just order one of the baby bobcats.

Joe, Yes indeed! 800 squares great for grass ops. 850 a bit better! With the newer MW44 at 10# thrust...OH BOY!
I heard a rumor that there is a "infant boomerang" in the works for the MW44 sized turbines for this Fall/Winter. Hope Alan keeps it sized right in the 750 to 850 range.
The "ling cat" is 32" wingspan. I got it at www.ejf.com
I have toyed with the idea of robart 1/2A retracts but if you use all the servo location provided that comes to between 6 and 7 servos. The plane is amazingly light and would work really well as a pusher or EDF. The larger version with the retracts is not available....yet.

well guys i got mine today and the first thing i did was break out the chainsaw, ripped open one wing and this is what i got, allot of ribs,the rear spare, and more ribs, the wings are built for speed, i haven't seen any retract yet so here is my first wing a with 605 spring-air retract rough'et in, in the nose i will have nose gear retract forward it just seems like the best idea with the empty space up there, well back to the other wing.
