OK Twinman.....here it is !!!

I took a crashed G202-40 size and rebuilt it as a twin. I went with OS 25FP's for power and they proved to be plenty. The maiden flight was at our annual Jan. 1st "Freeze Fly". It was kinda wierd not having any snow and with a balmy 25 degrees and 5mph winds, it was a pleasant day.

After I ran 2 tanks of fuel thru them and did a little taxiing, I filled up again, tacked the engines to about 8700 (plenty rich) and headed down the runway. With a touch of up at the end of the runway, she was airborne! I kept a shallow rise...just in case.... then took it up high. The controls were VERY touchy and I had my hands full just flying in a circle! After 4-5 minutes I brought it down for a less than perfect landing, but being in one piece I considered it a successfull flight. I adjusted all the throws, fueled up and waited a few minutes for my nerves to settle.

When I was ready for the second flight, I tacked the engines to 9200, (still a little rich) and took off again. Handleing was MUCH improved and with a few clicks of trim she was flying GREAT!! After a couple laps I was brave enough to try some rolls, loops, inverted flight and even knife edges. I was having a BLAST!! The G202 makes an awesome twin. The crowd behind me was impressed!

I decided to do one more knife edge before landing and that's when the DPS got me. No, not the cops, the Dumb Pilot Syndrome. I was flying slightly away from myself and gave what I thought was input to get back upright. Nope, inverted. Yep, full up elevator at 20 feet. Result, not pretty. I won the prize for taking home the most pieces of airplane!! bummer.....I'll have to try that again with a similar type plane....perhaps a trip to a swap meet.....hmmmmmm.....

Here's a before pic. I'll post a crash pic tomorrow.

doesnt look that bad.
CRASH REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS
1. Insert contents into garbage bag (must have all pieces)
2. Add CA glue (aomunt varies w/# of pieces)
3. Shake well
WORKS EVERY TIME
Results guarrentied by the indepentant firm of Schiester, Schuster, and Scheizster.

All kidding aside was to bad it had to happen on the first flight before you got to really examine it's full potental. Better luck with the next one

Flying2bill....

I had one of those bags, complete with instructions, but I think mine was broken. Everytime I'd shake it up, the results looked like a lump of confettii !!

I will try that again with a highly aerobatic plane. That was way too much fun !

Did you have the white bag, gray bag or black bag? The white ones were 1st generation and found to be defective and subsequently recalled. Although every effort was made to find them all, some may still be out there. IF you still have a defective one send it back to

Schiester, Schuster, and Scheizster
Out Where The Busses Don't Run
Nowheresville, In. 05050

You won't get anything but at least a defect product will be off the streets

man, that was one of the coolest planes I have seen great original idea and the finished producted looked like a kit (unlike some "custom" twins I have seen) good job, rebuild another don't let the crash discourage you.
