Consider the price of the same amount of balsa.

Status: offline 		Harbor Sales will sell it to you for about $8 for a 4' by 8' sheet but the shipping will kill you. Have it cut into 2' by 4' pieces and it's more reasonable.

Status: offline 		It took me a few months of off and on searching but I found a local supply house that sells to the sign shops. I also made contact with a shipping and container company.
I think it was around $10 per 4mm sheet and $16 per 2mm sheet from the supply house. The container business wanted to only sell in lots of 20 or more sheets.

Maybe you could do the same thing in your area?

I finally contacted Harbor Sales (very friendly folks) and found out that shipping in some areas is free to business addresses. I knew if I abused the free shipping it would go away soon (as they can't afford to ship single sheets) I ordered a seasons worth of coro and it came on a 4x8 pallet with heavy cardboard guards on all edges.
Very nice and just fit in the back of my wifes van

You don't wanna go to the U.S. for this stuff bud. Obviously it depends on the store but I get it in Toronto for $10 for 4x8 sheet.

Status: offline 		Watch out when ordering from Harbor Sales with the coroplast. I called them the other day for a quote. Talked to a very nice woman named Stephanie. She seemed to be right on top of things as far as entering it all in the computer and getting the pricing.

This is what she quoted..all in white with flutes running along the last dimensions:
12pcs 24x48 4mm
12pcs 48x24 4mm
12pcs 24x48 2mm
12pcs 48x24 2mm

Price $169.47 + 10.86 UPS = 180.33

So I called again today and this time talked to Judy. She tried to see if Stephanie had saved the quote on the system. Apparently she did not. So Judy enters the same above information for the order...and this time the price is:

$90.99 + 8.13 ups = $99.12

a whopping difference of $81.21!!!!

I told Judy she had better double check her data input, because that was a huge difference in price. Well she checked with someone else there. It was right at the lesser price.

So I don't know what the deal was with Stephnie's quote. Had I ordered it with her I would have overpaid a huge amount.

This experience doesn't leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling about their all being on the same page as far as their price quotes.

Buyer Beware!

Status: offline 		Based on their web site, the first quote seems accurate. In effect, you are ordering 6 4x8 sheets of 2mm and 6 4x8 sheets of 4mm. The web site says 2mm is $15.39 a sheet, and 4mm is $10.92. Add it up, you get about $160, plus whatever they charge for cutting (not sure if they do or not).

So, instead of complaining, you should be happy to get such a great deal!

Status: offline 		Oh I was not complaining that I got a lower price. But if you are running a business, everyone had better be on the same page with price quotes, or you will wind up pissing off a lot of customers.

I wonder what the price will be for the next guy that calls, and the guy after that...and.....

Web pages are notorious for being poorly maintained. That is why I prefer to call in orders if possible. And when I do call in, I expect that all the people on the sales lines will come up with the same pricing, no matter who I talk to.

I guess I just expect too much from businesses nowadays.

FWIW, most people, myself included, recommend calling in orders to Harbor versus using the www to order as the web site is notorious for mistakes/delays.

This all leaves me wondering if I might try haggling a bit the next time I call in an order. I think of myself as a 'preferred' customer...I wonder if I can convince them of the same??

Status: offline 		Ohhhhhh the UPS woman delivered el coro today. Wooohoo I said. The 4 boxes were a bit crunched on the corners, but they use a wrap around end on it, so the coro was fine. Basically, they just roll the ends of the box into a square tube and tuck it in on each end.

Then I took a look at the packing list. Oh oh.....looks like Judy led me down the path. My original hunch about the price not being right was correct. It was indeed too low. The first quote I got from Stephanie was in the ballpark. Apparently after I hung up with Judy, someone else there with their glasses on and a good night's sleep took a look at the order and said....woaaa....that isn't right!! So they corrected it.....without any phone call to me about it.

So this is what it comes down to cost wise as of Oct/06 as per their packing list.

Cutting charge is $2.95 per 4ftx8ft sheet. I had 12 sheets, so it was $35.40 in cut charges.

4 mm coro in white = $0.2128125 per square ft. / $6.81 per 4x8 sheet (before cut charges)

2mm coro in white = $0.4521875 per square ft. / $14.47 per 4x8 sheet (before cut charges)

Shipping to IL in 4 boxes was $11.38 UPS

Cost BEFORE shipping charges, but INCLUDING cut charges = $0.305 sq ft for the 4mm, $0.544 sq ft for the 2mm.

The 2mm is quite a bit more expensive, more than double the 4mm price.

So in the end...Stephanie wins with the most accurate quote. Yeaaaa Stephanie.

Status: offline 		I get 4 mil coro from the coke guy for little to nothing. It comes 4 foot by 32 inches with the flutes running 32. If you are in need of some, I have @ 150 sheets like this with thier advertising on it. You pay the shipping and I'll part with a box. I think I get 10 or 12 sheets in a box and have two boxes unopened. Send me a PM and we'll see what we can do.
