So sometimes there are "sleeper" planes out there, wondering if this is one of them? I know there are a bunch out there flying yet you don't hear much about them. I know mine is one of my favorite planes to fly (Next to the Fusion of course )
The hardware package that comes with it is out of this world! Maxair stepped it up in this department for sure. Carbon wing tube, painted alum gear. Even the paint on the cowl is dead nuts on! You can check them out here.
So if ya got one, lets hear what you think!

Hi Plane Planter: I have had one on my workbench since early June. My build was held up by some quality issues in the original shipment. Jason was great and after a bit of correspondence sent replacement parts. All I have left to do is paint the canopy trim install my rudder servo and shrink out the twists in my rudder and elevators.
I have to say that my impressions at this point are a bit mixed, the hardware is top notch, instructions good, paint work flawless, build quality and fit less than good.
I am yet to fly it so have to reserve final judgment. Will have it finished soon as the heat and humidity has let up so I will be able to paint this week.
My set up- Side mounted ASP108 with Slimline Pitts, Parker Models 3 inch spinner, Hi Tech HS5625's on elevator and ailerons HS5925 on rudder and a Futaba S133 mini on throttle used all the kit hardware with the exception of the motor mount, foam wheels and upgraded to Du Bro ball links at the servo connection, I mounted the wheel pants with a nylon bolt through the gear leg into a blind nut mounted on the plywood backing plate inside the pant. For radio power have a 2300ma Nimh pack. As with all my planes I have no idea how much it actually weights I just know it balances without adding weight, the battery just behind the wing tube.
I will post a flight report in about two weeks
I am currently flying the covering off a Fusion and am enjoying every flight. The Velox will have to be spectacular now to impress me as the Fusion is simply the best all around plane I have ever had.

Steve,

It looking at one of the pics on the OMP site, I noticed a cut out for a tail mounted rudder servo. Do you know of anyone going that route to balance the plane? I have nothing against the Pull-Pull set-up but just noticed the cut-out.

I'm thinking the way my OS 1.20 AX rockets my Fusion 90 along, it would be great on this plane!!!

Bill

Don't know anyone running the rudder servo in the back. I used the stock hardware for the pull-pull setup and put the servo under the hatch and have no balance problems.

Yes I heard about the carnage. Maybe better I could not go! Actually I wish I could have been there to be honest. It was a great time last year. Too much on my plate right now prevented me from traveling plus Forrest is swamped with HS Band.

Alrighty!!!!!

YS110 or OS 1.20AX (It'll get the YS first and if my dumba$$ can't keep it tuned then it will get the 1.20 )
HS 5625s on the ailerons and rudder
HS 5245s on each elevator half
2000mAh lipo with 6V reg
JR 720 Synth RX

All done David Copperfield style (you know, right under the wife's nose but she never sees it happening!!)

I'm really impressed with the ARF. Everything looks perfect and the hardware is way beyond the common ARF fare. I've read all the good flight reports so that combined with what I see in the box seems like a steal at that sale price.
