Uh, don't fly it near dawn or dusk for the aforementioned reasons. If the Germans couldn't see it, neither will you.

Bruce,
Remember my first SkyRaider with the blue/white checkerboard pattern and beige underbelly!! Now that baby was STEALTH!!! That's part of the reason "Son of SkyRaider, The Amphibious" is yellow/red....
But, yeah, that has already crossed my mind...especially dusk, when we sometimes get beautiful pink skies out over the everglades (which happens to start at the west border of Markham Park where we fly)
Not sure that I will find a PINK spitfire....looks like I'll have to have one custom painted, so I better buy an ARF to practice (read crash) with first.
Bev

If you want a good spitfire ARF i have been impressed with the world models one it flys nicely but it also does need alot of nose weight. If you don't crash it then you could always recover it pink as well. Here is a video I made from clips of my spitfires first 2 flights. It is not great but it works.

[size=3]Bev when you do the pink spitfire you have to incorporate a coach logo in some small way. Also bruce I work for FedEx Miramar, FL. FXEA I ran the microphone at the airshow and kept giving the UPS DC-10 pilot jabs for not painting purple livery. Bev if I get you a pink spits like mine you have to make a temporary hood ornament with it for fun.

Hey David...I'm happy to help cultivate an interest in your group field trip. I cannot promise you those familiar stresses you so often endure at Mayhem....we do it just a bit differently here.
They say that the most stressful flying is carrier landings...have a look at the ariel view of our field at our club website.
http://www.palmbeachrc.com/
The ariel view is deceiving. See the web sites photo sections for a more well grounded perspective. Actually, the water cannot be seen at the low angle from the pilot stations, so it does not loom as a constant threat. The runway length of 600 feet is more than adequate for anything R/C legal. That photo was taken quite a long while ago...the grassy areas have filled in nicely since then. In the ariel photo, it is easy to see the parking area...note that it is separated from the pits and runway by a very small canal connecting the lakes. Yes..we do have wildlife close to us at times. We access the field via a small bridge over the canal...a very cute arrangement.
I'm looking forward to seeing the gang up here. For after flying diversion we can get together over in my back yard....see pic.
Jim

Jim,
As per our conversation at the Jamboree, as well as the interest sparked here on the thread (I saw it....but have no idea where it went to....as I am the female pilot who posted her own NOTAM the day of my first lesson ) I will talk to Dave and the gang. I think it would be great to visit other fields. I've already been told that I'm spoiled by the great field that I fly at.....large open area, cut grass, no trees, huge paved runway, powered FBO (pavilion), etc. The water hazards look interesting to say the least....but hey, "Son of SkyRaider, The Amphibious" has already been swimming out at Markham once!!!
Let's see what we can arrange. It will be another step in my RC experiences!
Bev
PS. From the looks of your back yard, I better bring my rod and reel as well.

Mike,
Way too cute! The "trash can plane" still lives! ......Folks, this one was "literally" built from parts out of the trash!!!....and she flies!!!
See you at the field....and BTW, I'd like a shot at the sticks when "trash can" goes up next! I'm not exactly sure what category of RC aircraft that falls under, but guaranteed, it's one I haven't yet flown.
Bev

Don't use the word "fall" when you talk about that one and definitely never stand under it when it's flying, if you know what I mean.

Bruce,
I hear ya! From the pix it looks like Mike's ready to make it a tri wing plane now instead of a bipe! Do I see a Fokker on the horizon? Truly I am amazed at what some of the guys can put together and make airworthy.....all mad genius's at work!
Bev

There is a difference between "airworthy" and something that will manage to crawl kicking and screaming into the sky.
