Hmmm! Over a month and no posts?

Either Bev found a cure for the addiction,
Or she is too busy flying to hang,
Or she got a real job?

Gentlemen,
Oh, ye of little faith! I'm NOT that easy to get rid of... . I flew today (snapped my fultz nose gear off the plane too...metal fatigue....but it will be welded back together by tomorrow morning thanks to Joel) Tonight we have our BCRCA club meeting....special guest speaker.....a Tuskeegee Airman!!!!!!!!!
Joel is rebuilding the nose of an Ohio Models 60 size Funtana Profile plane that my friend Dougie, gave me. I've got an OS 61fx to put on it.
Today I got lectured by Patrick for not pushing myself more....I told him "kick my butt anytime....I need to be pushed to improve".
Yep, still absolutely LOVING THIS STUFF!!!!!! Plus, I think I probably hold the record by now of women who have come out to the field to learn to fly and actually stuck with it.
Sorry, I haven't been on the thread....for a short time, AOL didn't let me know anything had been posted.....I promise to keep up though.....I have fun bantering with you guys, of course, but at the same time, I LEARN from you, which is fantastic!!!

Bev

Gentlemen,
Well, I just had to come back on this evening after our BCRCA meeting and post about it. We were honored with Lt Colonel Leo R Gray, USAF Ret. .... a Tuskegee Airman with the 100th Fight Squadron out of the 332nd Fighter Group, as our featured speaker. WOW, it's always amazing to get to speak to "living history". We were enthralled with his lecture on the history of the Tuskegee Airmen, and even more amazed at his personal adventures as part of the squadron. If you ever get the chance to meet one of these gentlemen, don't pass it up.

Bev

Bev Thurs. the 25 @12:00 I put you on my calander for "pushing". Patrick is right; you have become stagnant in your skills. Plan on the ailerons being disconected and doing figure 8 landings. Yes, upwind and downwind; pray for a strong wind. Downwind landings are trecherous and will push your skills beyond conventional flight. Have the funtana set up for when we bust the trainer. NO joke.

BEV. Your POS in nowhere near worn out yet. Just check out two of my state of the art R/C SCHOOL TRAINERS. One was even on the front page of the Sun Sentinal local section as a local itrest photo when I won a fun fly with it in 96. Yes it was ugly even then. Dean and I killed them in a spectacular way when we were practicing formation flying with them. Please notice I had a Raider even more seasoned then yours. Hard to believe people payed to fly that thing. It really brings the anxiety down when the plain isn't pretty.

Bev,

Just to let you know that you are not alone (being one of the few females involved with this hobby), here is my better half with her plane.

Words fail me.

We had a [styro]foamie Cessna (Cox?) in the college avaition club in the late 70's and the rule with all the club's models was you crunch it you fix it. That one had a pretty ragged look about it, being one of the few powered models that got loaned out to us noobs for solos. But your two look like they went a round in a brush chipper!

They do sell Monokote, you know.

Those fuses remind me of the old timex comercial. I would hate to see the wings. OK, show us the wings.

Imagine the look on the pattern guy's faces if you showed up at an event with one of those and won.
