Bosch232,
Can't wait to see the Sopwith Camel...keep up the great work! I'm going to email the link to that first video to my pilot friends. they'll love itl

David,
How can any field possibly compare to "Mayhem" park!! I thought we had the market cornered on turbines, trainers, pylon racers, and 3Ders all flying at once in random patterns at variable speeds... (takes nerves of steel to fly with the "big boys" at our field )

Bev

Gentlemen,

Here are a couple of shots Warren took of me flying "Son of SkyRaider, the Amphibeous" today with "Patty Wagstaff" along for the ride in her carry-bag. She's turning out to be a great airfield dog!!! You can see my plane in the background....pretty good considering my camera doesn't have a high speed shutter!!!!

Bev

Bev,
Maybe we can get Bosch to put some ski's on the Sopwith.

I hated to have to walk out into the field to get the plane because it was so perfect, but we found out later when your flying, you just kind of glide over the holes and ruts as long as your ski's are pointed up!

The field is pretty much unflyable now due to melting, so were hoping for another nice snow so we can do it again.

We did some frozen lake flying the other day, hopefully Bosch will get that edited and posted.

Wow that pink camo really works: can't even see you with your pink camo helicopter. HINT HINT, POST POST. FYI- guys winter hit our field on Teus. Jan 15, 08. I wore jeans and a polar flease till 10:00am (then back to shorts and t-shirt) and Bev was seen in shorts but with a blanket over her knees (covered knees: an insult to humanity) at her computer at our field. 56 degrees is seriously polar bear WX for around here. There wasen't even a flaming turbine wreckage to warm up with (Malcom and Glenn decided not to fly) You know Bev's office is a wretched place; she sits online at our field between flights doing Work (definition of work can be seen on wikipedia) on her laptop outdoors in her pink t-top with her Yorkie at her side. She has a horriable workspace: her cubicle is 53 acres in an area populated by men generaly trying to assult gravity in a only mildly sucessful manner.

Hey Pa Ben I like the Radier amphib. I suppose the Fults double strut nose gear is in case the floats fail on ground impact the gear will be there to help. Also ALL the Raiders I know sport the same leading edge treatment. The Raider series are WONDERFUL flying planes but the covering is worth less then then a presidential candidates stump speach. Bev. will soon be getting some float time on a giant 10s 6A electric beaver. ("Electirc Beaver" would be a great band name) Of course I haven't yet told her of this because I'm afraid she will have a problem with the scale plane's name.

No, it's a pain in the a** to remove, so when I take the floats off I don't have to mess with it. But it sounds like you know your Sky Raiders. As far as the leading edge color, I put that on when I was learning to fly. Helps to see if your level or not on landings. But, it sounds like your a know it all, so you knew that. rcinstructor and all.

PA BEN,
I love the Amphib Raider. If you've read my entire thread you understand why mine is affectionately named "Son of SkyRaider, the Amphibeous" We also added a yellow leading edge to my SkyRaider way back when....it does help spot it with trees in the background. What size motor is on yours for water take-offs?
Bev

OMG BEN.....She's got RED HAIR!!!!!! She's a "MINI ME"!!!!! And she's absolutely ADORABLE!!!! You've got maybe 6 or 7 years till you start answering the door while "cleaning" your shotgun!!! Get ready for the gray hair!!!
Back to RC....I've got an OS46 and a master airscrew 10/6 prop. ..on land.... so I guess it doesn't need more power for the floats on water?

You should try a 11x6 on land it will pull nice. As far as the daughter goes I have 5. My oldest is 21, next 19, next 17, next 15,and 8. My rule is no dating until 16 and the boy needs to talk to me first. If they don't want to talk then there not worth my daughter's time. They also hunt with me. Each one has shot there first deer at the age of 8. Lots of fun.

Bev, what that means is that while he answers the door, she is cleaning the guns.
