Jollycub,
How long have you been flying? Yes, it is a rush. I'm especially thrilled when I now "grease" some of the landings. (everyone knows when I do, cause I'm the one jumping up and down for joy)

Dorsil,
Glad you like the "PINK"! I get lots of good natured ribbing from the guys at the field over my color coordinated glow rags, and the hello kitty band aids & perfume I keep in my floral field box... (which by the way, I built from a kit and painted myself)
Bev

Ray,
To quote one of the guys at the field when someone shows up who hasn't been out there in a while, and says to everyone,..."where did the girl come from?"...my friend Jimmy always replies "what girl?" ... followed by "where have you been the past few months man?!!!" Yes, they are a great group of guys, and I am having a blast with them, and a bigger blast now that I can fly (at least well enough to still have a plane in one piece) They have all been a tremendous help to me, and given lots of encouragement as well as being my universal "pit crew", "flight engineers", "airplane mechanics", "co-pilots", and "CFI's". I don't know how I would have gotten this far without them. RC UNIVERSE is also a big help. I'm learning quite a bit through the forums. (anything that helps speed up the learning curve for me is a good thing) Come on down anytime...we have a great field to fly out of!
Bev

I have been in the hobby for a year now, but have really been flying since this spring after I purchased my flight simulator.
I have crashed a couple of planes, but I know what I did (silly mistakes, not flying ability) and I won't repeat those mistakes.

One of the students has both his parents bring him to the field. One night, after he flew, someone suggested that his mother try flying. She flew buddy, had a couple of close calls, but loved it very much. I am placing bets that she learns how to fly before her son does. She goes home and works on the simulator after she flys.

Keep on posting. It is nice to get a point of view from a different perspective.

Bev,

Sounds like it won't be long until you grease all your landings, and shoot touch-n-go's with out touching the nose wheel .

Hey Bev, Just graduated from my trainer to a 4*60! Wow what a difference ! This plane flies so sweet, learning to land is somewhat different than the trainer. Today was my third day flying that plane and finally getting the approaches down. Just have to use a little more throttle comming in. I an so stoked with the performance of this plane ! Here's a pic of my new baby...........

jollycub,
That's great about the student's mom. I hope she keeps it up. Keep me informed. I crashed my Kadet Senior on short final...(should have given it more power and gone around...lost airspeed and dropped it about 10 feet to the ground in a cartwheel) dumb, dumb, dumb! I'm flying the SkyRaider decently though and just flew my hanger 9 tail dragger stick again for the first time in a month...only the 3rd takeoff and 4th landing for me on that plane. ( I hope to practice with it more) I'm still at the stage of jumping for joy if I grease a landing.
Thanks for the interest.
Bev

Hogflyer,"shoot touch-n-go's with out touching the nose wheel" OOH...I hadn't thought of that...sounds cool. Now I have something to shoot for. (and considering that I always have nose gear issues...sounds like an excellent idea)

Hi Jimmy,
I have pink "hello kitty" ones in my field box....only macho guys can wear pink bandaids!!!
Bev

Heck, Bev,

Real Macho Men don't wear any Band-Aids.

Bill, AMA 4720

Bill,
It's definitely been an eye opening experience for me out at the field. You guys are a handful. So far, I have found that glow fuel goes with everything from what you are wearing to what you are eating! And yes, none of you put on BAND AIDS! You would probably just CA gashes instead of getting stitches if you could get away with it! Also the front of your t shirts count as glow rags as well as napkins!...MEN!!!...Can't live with em, Can't shoot em!!!
Bev

After my first few landings I had to replace my nose gear as I had bent it, therefore I am happy if I still have nose gear left at the end of the day. I carry spares with me and everything.
