It doesn't take off, just goes around and around... What could be wrong?

Back blade is spinning

Thanks

Check the gain on the gyro. Might be set to high.

UMMMMMM is it just me or do those blades look like theyre on upside down??
Perhaps not..... Anyway... it sounds like you may need to adjust the proportional mix and possibly set the gain as well. Refer to your manual on setting the mixing.

NO I did not just crash!! Im making it flop around on the ground like that on purpose. Its a new stunt.

Fewski,

I believe that Psikelly is right, your blades look like they are on upside down. The flat part of the blade goes down, also, it appears that the tips are pretty beat up.

As far as the high speed rotation on the ground, it could be a combination of the blades being upside down and the proportional mixer and gyro gain out of adjustment. See pages 16 & 17 in your owners manual. Make sure you disconnect the battery before making adjustments to the proportional mixer. It may take 2, 3 or 4 tries to get the heli stable, that being from the spinning problem you are incurring.

Hope this helps,

Dave / Choppersrule

Do u have the tail motor pluged into the 4 in 1 the correct way? The tail motor will spin clockwise or counter clockwise depending on the way you have the connector in the 4 in 1. I replaced the frame and when i got it back together thats what it did, i couldnt figure out what i did. Then after like 5 min i was like let me try flip that connector around and that was it. It flew perfect

Fewski,

A quick check on rotation direction.. Viewing from the top of the heli, the main blades should be turning clockwise.

Viewing from the left side of the heli, the rotor blade should also be turning clockwise.

Just give it enough throttle trim to get the tail motor going to see what direction it's turning.

You may have to give it some stick throttle to get the main motor rotating.

Just a question from me, but why would having the gain se too high make it spin in circles? Wouldn't that just make the tail wag? Also, get some new blades, those are shot.

I am now getting my CP to move around on the floor with some semelance of control. I went through the gyro gain all the way down - counterclockwise- to set the proportional, then set the gyro gain back up to about 1/2 + alittle to get it reasonable. The CP always seems to nose to the Left a little on spool up but should be controlable with rudder. I've been following the set ups fron RunRyder and the Radds method for control. Did you check the blades for tracking and balance as well as right side up? Have you tried spooling up slower and controling the nose direction? Good Luck, go slow...step by step. Let us all know what you finally figure out to correct it. Andy

You should crank the gain on your gyro all the way up if you are a newbie just starting out. With the stock battery/motor, I found that it flew quite well, with no tail waggle turned all the way up. Even with my lipo, I get just minor waggle with it turned up all the way. I have since turned it down a bit to give me a little more tail control, but I still have it fairly close to full gain.

If you do notice excessive tail waggle with a stock setup, and the gain at or near max, just turn it down a tiny bit until the waggle goes away. If you have to turn it WAY down to make the waggle stop, then you probably have some problem with the heli, such as unbalanced blades, tracking, etc....
