I wouldn't worry about run time w/ the semi, man.. you'd get tired of running before you run out of juice....

Don't you think that would make the wiring more bulky and obnoxious? At least it would seem somewhat more realistic if you routed all the wires down the left frame rail.

Yeah, the routing is pretty tight as is.. I am not sure if that would help.. but feel free to give it a try!

My son goes to some "semi day" thing every year (a few trucks takes the kids for a ride) so I figure that I could bring it there and amuse everybody - thus the need for longer run times

I was going to wind them first and then route it afterwards. If it doesn't work I can always find other uses for the stuff

With a 5,000mAh LiPo, you'd have a run time of 3 hours+ probably, ha ha ha ha!!

You definitely won't have any room for that wire wrap in the Knight Hauler. With all the wiring you can barely get the body on as it is, last thing you need is bulky wire wrap.

I'll see where I am able to use it - tail lights to body for example and then use the left over for other vehicles.

I thought of using wire trap too but it seems like it's not possible.

I was reading on a different forum and seen a great tip for a 3 Speed. Pictures from a F-350 but should work the same with a semi.

Works with any standard Futaba servo.

5000mAh lipo, indeed should have a very very decent run time. However, they don't seem to have any of those low rating packs in 5000mAh config? As they are mostly high discharge pack (25C and above), I am worried about frying the MFU. Do you think it will be okay with those high discharge packs?

so the MFU only controls the lights and the sound effects and vibration not the trailer legs and the hitching and dehitching

In a way, it does.. legs and hitching / dehitching is controlled by the same servo. And the servo is turned on and off via the MFU.
