I forgot its a 4 stroke 52. And today I installed another landing gear. A little wider stance.

Please let us know how it works out. I've got a magnum 61 four stroke I was thinking of putting in one. What size prop are you running (13x4w?)

Thanks,

Dave

Dave

I think maybe a four stroke 61 might be a bit overpowering, however there is always the throttle. Now my 4 stroke 52 is more than enough power. the prop I' m using is a 11.5X4. I am also flying a kantana profile with a OS 46 FX, same prop. You did not comment on my opinion on the small landing on the tribute. First thing I did this morning was go into my goodie box and found me a larger set of L/G's. Now I want be able to fly it til next week. Honey Do's just want go away.

The .61 is actually a tad lighter than the .52 but only slighty more powerfull. I just tacked 9500rpm on a 13x3w yesterday to verify it would have enough poop. I wasn't too crazy about the landing gear either, however it seemed to work out fine since it lands so slow. On my next one however, I'm going to replace it with taller, wider ones. I crashed my first tribute putzing around too low. Unfourtuantly, winter is fast aproaching so I'm not sure I'll have time to complete this project this fall.

Dave] You will have plenty of time. This was the most complete and fastest kit I have ever built. I could not believe the push rods wire were prebuilt with Z bends all I did was screw on the coupler. however the elevator push rod was to short, but I had many left over rods that worked. It takes me weeks to months to complete a model even ARF, but this baby went together fast. Now my one problem was the front tab on the canopy. I'm thinking seriously of gluing to the wing. I really have no reason to take the wing off now. I want to glue it where I can take the wing off if need be.

Today was my first time out with the wider gear and what a difference in ground handling. The plane flys great, but I'm having a bit of trouble getting my 52 down to a good idle. Which bring me to my current problem. On my second flight, upon landing I couldn't get the engine to a good idle so I had to Taxi around trying to slow the plane down. So I elected to taxi off the runway into brush Oh the plane stopped and flipped over. Back at the pits I discovered that the wing mount had come loose. So thats a weak spot. Back at home I reglued the mount and added triangle stock (small) to the underside of the mount(Epoxy) And tomorrow I'm going to glue the canopy to the wing. Other than that the plane flys beauriful.

I just got one of these Hangar 9 Tribute .36 and I am trying to deside on what power plant to put on it. My question is I want to keep it light, so can the .32 to .36 2 stroke really fly this plane well. Can it hover and have enough power to pull out if you get in trouble?? I am looking at the EVO .36 from Hangar 9. I know a .46 will be better but I want to know if anyone flys one with the .32 or.36 and how it flys. Thanks

The short answer is NO!! You know in your gut that a 46 is the way to go.....so just do it!!

Go with the YS 63 lottsa power, but you always got the throttle. I 'm flying a kantana with a FX 46 thought about putting a 46 in the Tribute, but my MAG 52 was available so I went with it.
