What would one need to make a cp pro brushless? Obviously a brushless motor and esc but can this be modded to work with the existing electronics? What about the tail motor, would that need to be brushless-ized too or could I get that belt drive kit? If I got the belt drive the servo for rudder pitch could still be run of the 4 in 1 right? Since it still uses a regular servo signal and im assuming the rudder motor has an esc that runs of a servo signal too it should work.

Just so everyone knows, I dont even have a cp pro, or even a helicopter yet, Im looking into getting one before a mamba maxx for my 1/10th cars, otherwise I'll get one afterwards. And please dont tell me to get the cx to learn on, I have patience and loads of free time and Im generally a fast learner.

I just got the pro 3 days ago. Right on the box it tells you what you need for brushless. The motor and ESC are plug and play with the pro. the 3in1 is ready for brushless. I plan on going with the belt drive, but do not as of yet so can't give you an answer on that subject. This is my first heli. I decided on not spending 190 on a cx to later buy what I wanted. I don't think I'll spend that much in repair parts, so I went with the pro. Of course I'm on my second set of carbon blades. 39 dollars and counting. Plus they have tons of upgrades for the pro and not near as much for cx.

I was told the stock 4 in 1 was not compatible, does not support an extra servo. and as far as i know the head and canopy are about the only thing you can use with the belt drive that are stock. I already ordered the belt drive but now its a kit project to be built up while i learn on my CP.

Hi,

For the best information, I suggest you read up on the Pro. It has an Rx plus 3 in 1, not a 4 in 1.

The details are here.... As the gentleman above said, the info is on the box.

Brushless?
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/RelatedParts.aspx?ProdID=EFLH1300&Category=Completion+Guides&SubCategory=Optional+Brushless+Main+Motor+Power+System

More in the instructions!

(You don't need a belt driven tail to go brushless... but the 'rudder' servo port is available.)

Best Regards,
David

-6-channel FM radio system with CCPM, Idle Up flight mode switch and adjustment knob, and optional-use proportional fifth channel
-Unique combination of a 6-channel FM receiver and an advanced 3-in-1 control unit with main motor and tail motor ESCs, a mixer and a gyro
-Plug and play compatibility with brushless power systems and heading lock gyros

Lol, I thought the cp and the cp pro were the same besides lipo and symetrical blades, I found out later that theres more to it, sorry for sounding like a total noob there guys. So if you switched to belt drive you could plug the tail pitch servo into the old tail esc port? Revodave, I'm thinking exactly the same thing you are, I just have to see how much support my lhs has and sell my mini t first. They sell some really durable plastic flat bottom blades that fit the cp pro, you cant do any inverted flying but there alot cheaper and more durable than carbon, ill look for a link, not sure if I can find it.

If you get a brushless and a belt driven tail you can chuck the 3-in-1. Since the gyro on the 3-in-1 is not able to be used.(Unless you get a brush2less, which i think takes the dc power for the motor and changes it back into a servo signal)
