hello im looking to buy a new radio for my df60. im wondering whitch one to buy, im thinking about a futiba system but it has to be easy setup, and able to grow with this hobby for larger birds down the road.

shoud i get fm or pcm?
should it be 6 channels or 7?
whitch model?

also I want to keep it between $200 and $300 usd

I was thinking of this one http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKZC1**&P=0 what do you guys think

or possibly this onehttp://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGAF5**&P=0 but i need differnt servos with it.

I was also thinking about the speckdrum DX6 but i dont like the range it has so i have ruled it out.

Josh, it is okay to get teh 7 channel Futaba if you are into the hobby and plan to go bigger in the future, if you are going into gassers better get the 9CHP well it is more flexible to add more stuff on the heli.

thank you soneebee.
I was wondering, do these futiba radios support ccpm? or is that something they all do? or is it a speacial feature? and I think I might get into gassers in the future but only because an electric heli in the 60 or 90 size is way too expensive. but for the meantime im going to stick to my df60 and I think the next step will be the new trex 50 size heli the trex 600se I think... but that wont be for a year or so.
so I'm looking for a radio that will handle both, nothing fancy though I just cant see whear I would use 9 channels? I mean...
1. elev
2. aile
3. thro
4. rudd
5. gyro mix?
6. pitch
7. retracts? maybee if i go into scale but not likely
8. ?
9. ?

But then again who knows maybee you are just talking about the programming features? in any sort im just looking for something durable, easy to set up and not $500.00 that is a bit steap... even for me.

oh and before I forget I have good news, I crashed my df60 yesterday and destroyed the head. Now I can justify getting the new cnc head. anyone know if the df60 cnc head is any good? how is the set up, easy? and are there parts available for the new head yet? or do you have to buy a whole new head if something breaks?

anyway I would appreciate any help in these area's, I have no one in this town to help me out there is'nt even a hobby store in town not even a laime one.

Hey everybody
OK I understand the Futaba stuff is cool but it's also pricy. What I don't get though is why nobody mentioned the JR stuff. I have what you guys would refer to as entry level stuff a JR X2610. And you know what in all my years of RC the JR still meets all my requirements and it's really affordable. I just hate calles being made on labels and not on performance. Anyway this was only my two cents worth.
Cheers

Well futaba is the top notch stuff, yea something in the middle like JR that can still do all that you want for problbly like half the price would be even better.
