real nice job on the covering.
one question, in the second photo the prop looks like it's spinning.
was the photo taken of the plane in the air or is that another plane with the same covering?

It was radial blurred in photoshop... It's the only plane (we know of) that has that scheme... Tom just dreamed it up and went at it...

Great plane. It has inspired me. Question, how did you get your image to link to a web page instead of your original image file?

Billy,

Pretty easy...

Use the VB Code Enhanced Mode in your post, then add the URL Hypertext Link code. Next, insert the IMG code where the "clickable text" normally goes (in between the opening and closing tags of the Hypertext code.

The address for the IMG code should be that of your thumnail image, and the address in the Hypertext URL code would be that of the web site you want the thumbnail to link to.

The structure is something like this...

URL CODE - WEB ADDRESS - IMG CODE - THUMBNAIL ADDRESS - END IMG CODE - END URL CODE

I can't type the actual code in 'cause it will run it and you'll see what I have in my above post, not the actual code.

There are instructions here in RCU at http://www.rcuniverse.com/misc.php?s=&action=bbcode

Good luck,

Tom

Gator,

Thanks, I was wondering if you would "chime in" on this one. I've been checking out your covering for a while now, and have been very impressed! I like your taste in schemes and you are obviously quite skilled with the 'Kote!

I used a little Windex, little Trim Solvent, little heat, little cursing, little luck and very little patience. I just kind of switched around depending on what was "behind" each color (sheeted or open) and what the shape was that I was putting down.

Really didn't try to make this one impeccable (d*$#@ bubbles!) since it's "just a fun-fly" and will probably have a short life. I was a lot more careful on my Mac Daddy (Extra 300)... much smoother coverage.

Neo

Tom's Mac Daddy can be seen [URL=http://www.renderwurx.com/rc/MDextra300/index.htm]HERE[/URL]

The iris' were done with 3 colors of monokote... CLose up you can see the 3 steps of color... but anywhere past 10 feet it becomes a smooth gradient...

rcav8or,

OK, you asked for it... here's a pic of my Mac Daddy. Please visit the "official" Mac Daddy site to see some better pics of it. ;-)

Gator,

Thanks for the compliments, means a lot comin' from you. Do you design your schemes on a computer before applying them or just do them in your head and/or on paper? I found that PhotoShop and Illustrator are invaluable when it comes to designing covering schemes. Gives you a chance to work out all your design ideas, and print out actual size templates for cutting the 'Kote.

I use paintshop pro to kinda rough in my ideas. If its lettering and if its no to big, I'll print it out and tape it to the covering and cut it out. When I get a design or cover scheme and it looks good on the computer, I redraw it on banner paper. then trace that design onto the covering. Its gettin so that the moving checkerboards are easier. I'll have some pics of my "BUD KNIFE" probably this weekend. I just want to finish it before I put pics up.
On the BUD KNIFE I drew the word "BUDWEISER" on banner paper, and used a PSP font for the "KING OF BEERS"..It looks OK, but I think I might have made the BUDWEISER larger than it should be. kinda covers the hole wing.....I'll show you here in a couple of days...Gator
