Go check out camaroz28.com....you probably got those estimates from car magz that are just making up things to get you to buy them. I have been following that forum(camaroz28.com) and prices will be almost the same as the mustangs because Chevy's top performance car is the Corvette which costs 46K. I think the camaro will start at 20k with the v6 and go to about 35-37k with an ls7 to beat out mustang's "GT-500".

Chevy has had ford worried for the past couple years. With the release of the camaro, the mustang will be dethroned for sure. The charger... LOL never had its day.

I've got one buddy who is a hard-core MoPar freak and owns a car repair shop. He had a Dodge pick-up that had the alternator take a dump on him. It seems that the Dodge boys had changed alternators mid-year and he had to search all over the US to find one!
His ex lives across the street from me and got his `73 `Cuda in the Big D. She still has it although it's turning into a rusting hulk of steel.

What is cool in all of this is that the Big 3 are recognizing that there still is a demand for muscle cars with the return of the Camaro, a better Mustang and the Challenger/`Cuda's.

Dude, a camaro with a ls2 engine would be trick! I can grantee that it would stomp on any mustang! And i think that ford should bring back a new version of a Shelby cobra gt, just so the new corvette ls-7 could beat it at lamonds. Man there for about 5 years i was worried about GM's future but after the new corvettes and now this, i cant wait. I was talking to my dad and he said that he would sell his house and get a smaller one if they maid a elcomino with a ls-7 and a corvette type suspension. Sorrie, don't know how to spell horse in spanish...

Everyone on the camaro forums are pretty confident it will came with the ls2 as a bottom of the line v-8 with a ls7 being top dog. And by the way Ford is coming out with the Shelby Gt500 with 500hp for 2007.(MSRP is in the mid 40K's) That is why many people think the camaro will come withthe option of a ls7 producing 505hp just so it can beat out the Gt500's.

ehh, I wouldn't put my pinks down for that race. The gt500 will weigh around 3900lbs with 500hp compared to the camaro weighing around 3400 lbs with 400hp. I think the Gt500 would win in the 1/4 mile by a few car lengths.

I would, it might say 500 hp but that don't mean diddly if the care around it ain't biult as good, and the ls2 makes a corvette .3 seconds slower than a dodge viper sts wich makes 650 hp. Hp is not everything... Althoe saying that the new mustand is what you say it is, it won't win by more than 1-2 lengths if that, just beacause i hear that the camaro is suposedly goign to have a optinal 6spd semi-automatic, the same one that comes in a corvette.

The Shelby GT-500 is what my brother ordered. The first ones are supposed to be coming in later this month but he doesn't know when his is coming in. He has no idea what color or options his will have, he gets whatever they roll off the truck when his name gets to the top of the list.

There's a guy that used to live by us that made the 60's Cobra kits. Blue with white stripes, chrome everywhere, and engines that would set off car alarms. I'd really like to know how much he sold them for. They were INCREDIBLE!!!!!!

Actually I got those from a family member who goes to Carlisle, PA car shows. It's funny, my Aunt has a 69' Camaro and my uncle has a 69 Vette 427 they have won a ton of best of show trophies.
