Status: offline 		Alan Szabo rocks. Go on to wikipedia and look up radio controlled helicopter. They have one of his good 3d videos showing. It’s pretty cool to become part of the definition of RC helicopters.

Status: offline 		Alan Szabo is an unbelivable pilot.. Nerves of steel. His ability and confidence level are the extreme.

Amazing video, I watched it several times. At around 3 minutes and 38 seconds into the video he does strike the ground with the skids (listen carefully and you can hear it) but just keeps on going. This guy is amazing to say the least. My blades off to him.

Status: offline 		after I got over the "kill the camera man" stage I was QUITE impressed, even though he DID tap the ground once...

One thing i'd like to know, can a li-poly take that kind of abuse? that looked like a LOT of strain on that poor thing!

Status: offline 		They can aslong as they're rated for the discharge. Most LIPO's are safe to be discharged at temps up to 120F (~50C) which is quite hot. You can go even higher than that of course (140F being the max for safe operation) but you short the batteries life in doing so.

The packs he's running should be more than fine, though, under such high current draw situations, i'm sure they won't last as long as if you treated the packs kindly .

Status: offline 		Honestly, I dont think he could care less. If that heli burst into flames mid-flight, its not his problem. The thing was probably scrap after that flight anyway. I cant believe the spindle didnt just bend in two.
