Either she likes you the way you are, or she doesn't. There is no in between. It's just that simple.

ive heard somthing like telling her your quiting R/C models and joining the foreign legend or somthin like that--from what I understand--itll get their attention and they will want you to stay in this wonderful hobby.
I own 30 + planes and DAD tells me I own to many--so I burnt 2 on newyears, well, those 2 planes are back, and they are bigger, so much for down sizing.

I am in the lucky side of the coin. Have about 25 planes in various stages. We just bought a house a few months ago due to the fact that it had a 25' X 15' heated workshop so I had a better place to build. My Wife helped work on the shop and let me buy the things I wanted to put in there. All told I have about $5000.00 worth of tools and such in the shop with a bit more to spend. Last week I ordered an Aeroplane Works B-17 kit at $675.00 and told her I needed about a thousand bucks worth of engines for it. No problem.

I am one of the lucky ones alright, and I never forget it! When you have a great Wife let her know it and often!
Hans

Your not married, don't explain ! or even try for that matter.

If your catching some heat already on "your collection".
Then straighten out the problem NOW or it will only
get much worse.

Next time she ask why you you need so many airplanes
ask her why she buys so much makeup .(be prepared
to duck with that statement) if you dare to get nasty,
tell her at least your aircraft work and the makeup is
starting to get questionable.(this statement will chill
a weekend)

Good luck
Roby

Well, it all came to a head this weekend after I sat her down and had a very deep conversation. Basically stating, this is my hobby, I love it and will continue to do whatever it takes to stay updated and active. If that meant buying more planes, better radios, tools, etc. she'd have to love it or leave it. If she didn't like me being active in the RC Hobby then it was time to find a new boyfriend.

And I'm pleased to announce......I just bought another plane!!!

HEHEHE!!

Besides, I can always get a NIB Girlfriend and break her in properly...

Kevlar:

You didn't say if the girl friend went to the shop with you.

Women are like buses, there'll always be another coming along.

Henry Higgins (Pygmalion/My Fair Lady) was a backslider, I have grown to love misogyny.

Sell your one-holer, get a two-seater.
. It's cheaper than trying to beat her.

Bill.

THat may be so, AW, but twin drivers do it twice as often. Haw.

If you always fly a twin,
. With one dead you'll stil get it in.

Bill.

I told my wife, before I met her, I had a FEW airplanes and a LOT of girlfriends.

Now I have ONE wife, and a LOT of airplanes.

I'll switch back any time she wants.

Have your planes and new radios shipped to a friends house then sneak them in on the way home from the field. She'll never know. He's going to have a tough time hiding the heli this summer though.

There was a thread here that summed this all up. reasons why airplanes are better than women.

here's the link

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/tm.asp?m=385797+better+than+women

oh, and by the way, my wife supports my hobby. Last weekend I totalled my DP Ultimate. Got home and told her, she just sat down and looked at the budget and said that we'd have the money in march to replace it. God I love her!!!!!
