Hello,

I am learning to fly raptor 30, i can hover side ways and little forward flight. It's a hassle to go out to the field as it is 15 miles away, so i was looking for some inexpensive electric heli i can buy to practice forward flight, circuits and nosein in my back yard.

I looked at T-rex but is very expensive cant afford it along with raptor 30. What do you guys think about Blade CP or Blade CP pro? Can i easily fly this thing and also can i transfer the skills i gained on blade to my raptor 30? and can i get good performance stock or do i need to upgrade any of the parts? I prefer not to upgrade anything. any one here fly blade and nitro heli?

Please advise

The smaller electric helicopters are more sensitive then the bigger ones and take more work to keep in a spot. If you get good with the cp then the raptor will seem more stable.(but i don't have a raptor, so i could be off a little)

Gonwee is correct in his statement, the Blade CP or Blade CP Pro are a lot more sensitive and can be a handful in the begining.

Go to hobbyzone.com and compare what the CP comes stock with and the CP Pro comes stock with. The Pro wasn't available when I started this past January in the hobby. If I had to choose between the two now, for the extra 50 bucks or so I'd go with the Pro.

Most of the parts are same for CP & CP Pro, and reasonably priced. Also, they are pretty easy to work on..

The super nice thing about any of the electrics, is that you can fly them anywhere. In the house(well not all of them), in the garage, in the back yard or take it where ever. Stuff a few battery packs in your pocket, take the bird and TX in hand and your ready to go.

It's always a hard thing to decide on, what should I do, what should I do.

Electrics are the way to go for sure. Ive cleared an 8 by 8 space in my basement and Im hovering in that area. 8 by 8 is a ton of room once you get hovering down. Even learning its lots when you follow a course like Radds.
All my planes are electric as well. Mostly because I like the freedom they allow to fly almost anywhere.

I have always liked electric stuff a lot. Even back when it wasn't all that good. However, when it comes to all out performance, nothing electric can compare to nitro. Not even the biggest baddes brushless + lipo systems come anywhere near the power to weight ratios you can get with nitro power.

I am so glad to see, however, that electric RC stuff has really gotten a lot better over the past few years. I always loved the convenience and clean running of EP, but the old stuff was just weak and weighted a ton. Lipo batteries especially are a godsend to RC...

It is finally possible to have a quiet powerful plane, car, boat, whatever that doesn't weigh a ton and can actually run for more than 3 mins
