Status: offline 		Yes, the Lynx can carry a little heavier battery. Too much heavier battery would of course increase motors' current, and the heli would need more cooling pauses. I have not tried it with 3s lipo yet.

I use to have a couple of minutes cooling between about two minute flight sessions. The tail motor is prone to heating, the main motor seems not be.

When our Lynx is used a lot, the tail motor lifespan is about two months. It is fortunately easy to replace and inexpensive, about 3...6 USD, if I remember right.

Status: offline 		Hey carlitoslam watch those amps!! Remember the mixer/controller is fairly easy to burn out with the standard battery. Take a look at buttheadgsxr1000 posts, No 53 & 60 as a precautionary tale.

Status: offline 		Hey ben, i see your looking at this post, this is my 2nd heli (walkera 4 was first, selling to friend soon) and, is it easier to use collective or fixed pitch when i first fire it up?

Status: offline 		I didnt know that you had an option, just make sure you set it up so the blades are spinning quite quick before the collective comes in else the motor controller will melt in time. Before you start look back at the previous posts I've made with regards to mods - they are very quick to do and will hopefully save you some grief - it's very twitchy out of that box. Tho by looks on here some have had some bad experiences with them - looks like it might be the luck of the draw. Ive not really had anything go wrong with mine and it's proved very tough. Good luck

I posted before that I'd try and get a replacemment TX, but no luck. My RX also has some melt marks on it, but the negative pitch jump that you have seen occurs with mine too. So I'm thinking it IS the Tx and not the Rx. What do you think?

Do you think you could post a pict and some more detail about how/where to solder these resistors. I've got very little knowledge on modifying electronics like this, but I'd like to have a go.

My Lynx 380 had some soldering faults in its transmitter already as new. I wonder if any of you did get a tx with similar errors? The directions of 3D and gyro switches were reversed (see photos). So was the pitch trim on the left upper corner of the tx. I resoldered them to work correct. Also, the pitch trim pushed the blade slider against its end. I rescaled the trimmer with an added 5 k resistor.

The aileron and elevator controls produced sudden pitch jump at their ends as they seemed to drive the servos against their stops. Their ranges had to be limited by soldering 2 k resistors to each ends of the potentiometers - a kind of fixed D/R modification. Also, the elevator stick fad a troublesome affect on pitch. Pushing the stick would drop the heli down, and pulling it would add lift. I did away with this effect out by moving the links in the two rear servo horns one hole closer to servo axle. Now the pitch seems to remain rather unaffected from elevator movement.

The pitch scaling trimmer on the right upper corner (see pic) of the tx produced a different problem. If it was set to low (ccw) in 3D mode, it produced sudden jump from positive to negative pitch. This is evidently a transmitter mixer programming error. In flight, it would probably have smashed the heli against ground. In its clockwise position the trim did not twitch the rotor pitch, so I readjusted it by scaling out the defect section by soldering a 12 k resistor on the ccw end of the trimmer pot.

It can fly upsidedown - apparently but I never have been game enough. Try it on the simulator first, funnily enough on the simulator I found it easier flying upside down than right side up. I re made the plug in the back to fit into the microphone jack on the PC and controlled it through there - that took a bit of effort getting it working also.

Status: offline 		yah in this thread - but a few pages back, i believe colco stopped making the brushless kit for it several months ago, tho I'm sure you could fit a brushless motor and speed controller from something else onto it.

Status: offline 		Fly it a bit with the brushed motor first - might pay to drill some holes in the cover to prevent it melting the speed controller. Mine runs really cool to the touch now (cover removed) WIll be keen to see how you get on let us know
