All votes count. Enough of the bolt B.S. The spinner flies!
I don't know how well this is going to work, but in rummaging around the shop I found an old "brand new" can of Brodak dope. In Cub yellow no less, Can ya beat that?! I think I was going to use it over a silver undercoat on a big Bucker Jungman several (or more) years ago and never got to it before I let the plane go.
It's gonna be a brush job, though. I absolutely refuse to break out all the spray equipment for just one spinner.

I won't argue that one. But have you ever done a really good brush job? That's a lot of work, too.
Coat, then dry. Then coat and let dry again. Then color sand. Then coat and let dry. If the paint wasn't reduced enough, then color sand. Check finish. If acceptable go to polishing compound. Check finish. If acceptable clear coat or wax.
I just didn't want to all the clean up on the spray gun and dig out the big compressor that has all the airbrush fittings on it.

Slacker, you say?? Look again All with a paint brush. I made a mistake on the dope manufacturer, it was Sig, not Brodak. They made the clear that I didn't bother with.

Cherry wax can be had at leading truck stops everywhere. This Sukhoi flies Sunday. I've got to dial up the elevator travels to have more than Tom did. I had to "de-tune the rudder to get it below 70% travels!! On dual rudder servos it's so fast it will slap somone silly standing behing it. With authority!

She's now ready to fly. I'll post some finished pics today or tomorrow in the post. I haven't been able to upload a video through my server. They limit everything to 20 megs or less. Any flight videos we do will be loaded on a DVD and sent to Tom so he can upload them. Don't tell anybody but he's real good with computers.
The rudder slapping thing would make a real funny video. I'll have to think about that
*****************************************
Okay, here's the low down on the building part of the Sukhoi prototype. There's a couple of small things that Tom's going to have changed to better secure a couple of areas, making it better and easier for everyone. Now on to the rest of the story...
I can't figure out why anyone would want one of these. All the parts fit perfect. That not possible for a prototype but it happened anyway. Everything is in perfect alignment. There are tremendous control travels just the way it comes out of the box. There is a lot of room inside for anything you might want to put in there. Heck, with a little shoe horning you could find a way to fit two smoke tanks. It will accept a light or a heavy engine and be managable to balance. The cowl and canopy are both perfect fits. The canopy is about the easiest one to mount that I've ever seen. It's such a dirty, rotten, low down, be the best on the block kind of plane that I've already told Tom to put me on the list for a production plane. It's going to be tough to do one better than this, but I'm certain that's the way it will be. Hmmm, as far as the build would be concerned that should make it about perfect. The flying comes on Sunday

When I'm finally good enough to fly like Jesky I'll quit working overseas and get a nicely paid sponsored position somewhere near home! I can only wish I was that good. Right now I'll settle for being almost as good as I was last year at this time. I'd kill for more practice time!
