Hey Guys,

I am interested in the on-board data logger that I have seen some of you refer to. Can someone post a link to where I might find one? Have you found this to be a useful tool or just something of interest?

Thanks,
Emory.

Emory,

I've been using the Eagle Tree Systems E-Logger for a while now and it's a good tool. Gives you an idea on what kind of current you are really using in the air and how your batts are performing under load over the course of the flight. Click the above link to get to their site.

Jeti's new controllers hopefully that will be relased soon in the 70 and 90 amp sizes will also record peaks and mins of volts, amps, and RPM as well as a couple other useful things. They won't be on a graph, just max or min values as read from a terminal after the flight. But they aren't out yet, so the Eagle Tree is probably the way to go. there are others out there I think, this is the only one I have used.

That's a pretty cool gizmo. Too bad they are out of stock at the moment. I think I might have to get one of those. Any other similar products out there that someone else has used?

Thanks,
Emory.

They aren't really out of stock, they just don't want to sell to end users. Like Castle, they only want to sell to dealers. So, find a dealer.

Are you not a dealer Adam

Emory...the micrologger is the best gizmo you could purchase. Get it with at least one temp probe, and the lcd display so that you can either read real time static numbers like a wattmeter, or peak inflight values after your flight. This way you can skip buying a wattmeter as well.

I already have the watt meter, but I was thinking of getting the display. Thanks for the input guys! BTW, I assume you are using the temp probe on the batteries?

Yeah Billy, sorry to hear about that! Are you going to have anything else to fly in the near future?

I too use the Micrologger from Eagletree Systems.

I use the temp and brushless RPM sensor with it. I can't stress how useful that information is on a maiden flight. Lets me know whats going on in the air.
