OS V-Spec 21 if yer racing.....Or I would get a Sportwerks .26 V2 motor for the racer/basher that I am. It's powerful, runs like a champ, and cost only 130 bucks.

What truggy is this engine going into?

Idk.. id choose a .21 for it.. like a Novarossi p5x or mr ninja, i dont think .28s belong in truggies.. but thats just MY opinion.. leave the bigger blocks for the bigger trucks

maybe a RB c6

this is the engine i would get if i had a CRT:

http://www.rcbuggyshop.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68&products_id=295

or i would definately buy this one if you have the money:

http://www.rcbuggyshop.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68&products_id=288

but if you are on a budget, then i would get the P5X

http://www.rcbuggyshop.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=68&products_id=189

if you werent racing, then i would look into some of them toss and go motors, but if you are considering racing, then the above listed engines would be my choise of engines to select.

CRT's are geared pretty low with that big ol spur gear - so a .21 would work fine. Chad Bradley doesnt seem to have any issues spanking the field with his OS V Specs ??? :-)

Personally - Im a .27 / .28 believer ... I run picco's and send them to Jim Hottinger of Fusion Hot Mods. Toss an OS Carb on there .. and away we go - bearings as needed. Engines are sub $200 NIB and then about $85 to mod. They come back getting better fuel economy and with plenty o power.

Piston sleeves and conrods are $75 a set from OFNA on their rebuild program. The the cost of another Mod if you choose to go that way.

i agree, but we are also talking about the chad bradely who doesnt have to pay for a Vspec every 4 gallons. the only Vspec i would consider is the EB modded Vspec, otherwise i would pass.

i have heard the same about them .28 sized motors, there are allot of people who prefer a .28 over a .21 for a truggy. personal preference i guess like you said.

Take this in to account too, a .28 will use more fuel vs the .21 and if you plan on racing the .28 "might" have more kick put in a 20 min main, need to fuel the .28 3 times vs 2 with a .21. So much for the extra kick. Just my 2 cents.
