You can get a rotostart backplate at hobbypeople.net and it will fit into the savage. The hole where you insert the wand is a little lower than the stock savage rotostart backplate, but it does work. I have the SH .28 Prospec and it's the same motor as the XTM 457 and I use a rotostart with mine.

Try item #148449. I got that number the other day from their support after about 3 or 4 emails. This is the rotostart backplate for the motor and you use the XTM rotostart with it. But, here is the contents of an email from Hobbypeople:

"The 24.7 backplate fits on the larger engines, but has the correct hole-spacing for the HPI roto-start."

So, it sounds like the XTM 247 backplate fits the 457 motor and has the correct offset for use with the HPI rotostart. If this is true, that is the way to go, but I have not tried it and will not swear that it's accurate.
