Plus like you said on the E-Savage, and E-Zilla forum their are tons of parts that have been fabricated. Plus not that many parts need to be upgraded because it is a strong truck already right out of the box and dosen't need as many upgrades as other trucks.

I agree!! I have been running my E-Savage pretty hard, it is completely stock, and I have been jumping it 6-7 feet and haven't broke a single thing yet. It also handles great. I think it's a very good setup for the price.

Yet ANOTHER satisfied user And to think that all that needed to be done was to call it a 'Savage' instead of a 'Zilla'

You have a point, I never really looked into the E-zilla. I hated the red bug body and didn't really know what Hot Bodies was. Then the day after I buy the savage I started looking and saw they were the same thing. The Savage has some tougher parts on it though, they upgraded the parts that were problems on the E-zilla.

...The c-hubs we know about, they were actually done BEFORE the E-Sav was 'redone'...But what else though?

What upgraded shocks work best on the E-Savage/Zilla? HPI told me their premium Savage shocks will work on it, and raise the ride height, and the more clearance I can get with it the better. I'm not having any handling problems. My actual only complaint about the Savage is that it sits a little low. I have noticed the E-Maxx will plow through a little deeper snow, with it's extra clearance. I would assume that since the Savage sits lower it will bottom out a little easier than the Maxx on jumps too.

I read the drive shafts and battery packs were upgraded too, but it looks like the later versions of the E-zilla had the same upgrades. I'm not arguing man, you're right, they are the same truck. I just perfer the truck body better. I actually like the ATV body, but I had to assume I would tear it apart rolling it and flipping it and crashing it. Now though, I wish I would have gotten the ATV body and kept as a nice shelf body, and bought an aftermarket truck body to bash with, since truck bodies are a good bit cheaper than the ATV body with Rider.

I'm a fan of the truck body for sure. The ATV body looks stupid in my opinion with a little fake guy sitting on it lol. But after looking at the buggy body it is kind of growing on me. But the truck body for sure.

I looking for some to upgrade the tires from the stock ones. What does everyone suggest? The stock tires are good on pavement but just slip like all hell on dirt or climbing. I know bow-ties are the best (or the like) but want something that will last longer on pavement. Proline Maxx Mashers???

...Proline BowTie MT's on offset Proline rims are best if you are brushless...Regular rims if you are stock...If you are buying new just get the offsets...The downside is that they are only available in white from Proline; the yellow would fit the stock body so much better

Hi BitHed

I intend to buy a LiPo set-up for the stock ESC of E-savage. Labrador told me to use a "LiPo protector" would you happen to know any recommended brand?

It's hard to get alot of them to work with the dual battery packs. Most of them plug into the balancing tabs and being that you are using 2 batteries you would have to buy two. They also make some for 4S lipos, but you would have to buy an expensive 4S pack, and mount it on one side or another, making your truck of balance. Check out the LOA (Loud Obnoxious Alarm) at ApogeePacks.com, it will take some wiring modifications to make it work, but it will work. If you splice the positive inputs togeter on the esc, and connect the LOA there, then run both packs into the LOA in series, and set the LOA for 4S lipos, it will work. (The LOA is selectable between 2s & 4S lipos.) You could also use connectors to make it easy to plug the LOA in and out of your car, so you can still use nimh packs, or use the LOA in another car. Oh, and by the way, the LOA does NOT cut power to your truck, it has a LED indicator and loud alarm to let you know it's time to shut it down.
