ok, an SH 28 doesn't push a Savage any faster on the top end if gearing isn't changed, does that mean it isn't a significantly more powerful engine than the S25?

Can a X model even keep a spur intact long enough to drag race 132 feet?

LOL there's a testament to the power of the motor! Learn to adjust your mesh better. I have NEVER chewed a spur

I put 3 gallons on my original spur. a WOT run-in with a dumpster claimed it.

Who me? No spur problems with mine at all. I have a non X Savage and have never had spur problems.

Word on EVERY Savage and/or R/C board on the net is that the "new and improved" spur is the achilles tendon of the X model and some are dying with less than a tank of gas thru them-that's why I posted what I did above.

edit-no PMs after a few days, so I guess nobody wants to show me how much better the F4.1 is huh? I didn't think anyone would bite.

Anyway, back to the tiny for 1/8th scale Savage, and the huge for 1/10th scale E-savage. HPI=More parts, more power, more speed. The people that want ultimate power will end up with electrics, and those that want nitro will do so for the same reasons people keep old cars, the smell, noise and character.

I would race ya if i had one.

LOL i love old cars, they're the best kind, usually cheaper than new cars, but a little more work, but a huge payback in getting to know the car's personality. I love new cars too though; the Bugatti Veyron is one of my dream cars (emphasis on "dream"

I'll throw a 2spd back in and run any F4.1 X owners that live near me that want to show me just how fast their "improved" engine is over my old and used up 4.1 RTR special. PM me if you are serious.

Quick, somebody with an X challenge Bumperdragger to a $150 race.... then send me your 4.1 and I'll mod it... we can split the money afterwards

I'd race bumperdragger with anything I owned, especially my Savage. I'm not driving 1,200 miles to race toy cars though, gotta make it worth my while
