Hey T-bird junkie, I'm heading out to Oklahoma City in a couple of weeks. Were we going to meet up and race these things or what?

BitHed...thanks for the info! Do you have any suggestions on A/C dual-chargers? Also, how about battery brands/sizes (don't want to start something, just looking for suggestions other than another set of stock batts.

T-bird...what part of the Valley are you in? I'm around Tatum & Deer Valley. What local hobby shops do you frequent/prefer?

Tim

Thanks T-bird. I usually go to Frank's. Where's Duncan's? Worth a look?

...I am not up to speed on chargers available around the world...We have some good ones here...I think the pros and cons of different chargers is a science all on its own...

...Batteries i personally use Intellect batteries or GP batteries...I can get Japan-market Intellects, with a slightly higher output, so thats what i use most...ANY high Mah; 3600, 3700 or anything up to 4200 is nice...The more Mah the longer the runtime...

...You should ALWAYS try to upgrade with batteries and bearings...And being an EP vehicle means that good batteries are the LIFE BLOOD of your RC life so it makes sense to have good ones RIGHT form the start...oh and dont forget to fit them with Deans Ultra plugs...NO exceptions...Just make sure you dont cut BOTH wires at the same time when you chop the plugs off

timmy, Duncan's is just north of Glendale on 35th Ave, in the same shopping center as DNA auto. mostly planes/helis, but some cool people hang out there...but as far as straight RC car parts, you're SOL when ya go there.

Hey all you savage guys. I was just wondering if you really wanted a brushless conversion kit for your savage. I'v been working on a simple design, and with the right pinion and spur would push this truck over 55MPH NO ****NYA

Hi,

My son wants a truck for Xmas and I am seeking for some advice before jumping in; I am coming from the "heli and airplane world" so all of this is new to me. My son is 13 so I do not want to buy a toy that is going to break after a few runs. I found the package of the E-Savage very attractive (battery and charger included) and I almost ordered one last Saturday, but I tried an E-Maxx yesterday, this was my first truck experience and I was impressed.

I have never seen an E-Savage and was trying to find some comparison between the two. I found this thread but I got lost with all the argument about the re-branding of the EZilla. I personally do not really care as long as the product is good and we can find replacement parts. But I am now wondering if the lower price of the E-Savage when compared to the E-Maxx was not hiding something.
If someone knows about a comparison thread, that would be great. I am mostly looking for performance comparison (power, speed, efficiency) but also reliability and durability.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help,
Chris.

...Oli this is the timeless battle my friend

...I am obviously going to suggest the E-Savage but i am EXTREMELY biased...I have never used an E-Maxx but i do know that MANY E-Maxx users (who do or have owned both) like the E-Sav more...I dont know if its faster but its VERY versatile and it will do what you want it to do on demand without much complaining...You CAN put it away 'wet' and pull it out the next day for more of the same wholesome goodness...There ARE a couple of things you need to do it out of the box which IMPROVE it but once done they are pretty 'set & forget'...I will leave it at that for now

Thanks BitHed,

I was hoping for more comments but I think I will go for an E-Savage (I like the bundle), or may be 2 if I want to play too . You mention "a couple of things you need to do it out of the box which IMPROVE..." can you list these mods?

Thanks,
Chris

...basically...harder springs, harder shock oil, lower the upper hinge pins, loosen the slipper a little bit and you are pretty much good to go
