Betcha can't pop wheelies with those....or can you?[sm=confused.gif]
Got the top speed for it?

badboy2 -> RE: HPI E-Savage (8/17/2006 2:48:46 AM)

it does wheelie i think the way i have it set up it gives more low end torque,speed prolly a bit faster than stock emaxx but not much..but i know it was faster than my stock emaxx, maybe i need to change pinions.. for top speed ..

savagely_maxx -> RE: HPI E-Savage (8/17/2006 7:04:03 AM)

nitro is more fun but electric isnt loud and u can drive it inside a small house without getting smoke in ur lungs,then getting high of fuel [:D][:D]

That looks like a Savage that is maketed towards girls. After all, it has a VW Beetle body (that car is very popular with women now).

I do like the idea of being able to run a Savage in-doors, I guess I'll get the E-Zilla upgrade and a more masculine body, like a Mazda RX8 body (if they make one for Savages).

What about the tvps, here is the e zilla:

HerrSavage -> RE: HPI E-Savage (8/17/2006 4:22:54 PM)

Not a girl or sissy or anything, but I kinda' like it.. I'd get a new body.., but somehow it seems to have a wider, more aggressive stance than the E-zilla. It looks like somebody's pushing the front end down??..

But yeah, I had an E-zilla, and though with good batteries it could really move, ultimately electric just didn't thrill.. Felt too toy-like.

Still though, maybe this means that with HPI-backing the E-MAXX will in fact get some more comp, and that spare and tuning parts will become more available..

BTW, like five months after selling it, I recently got a random package in the post from Hot Bodies with an E-zilla drive-shaft part that I never ordered or asked about..

SAVAGEJIM -> RE: HPI E-Savage (8/17/2006 7:39:34 PM)

I wonder if the E-zilla makers had rock crawling in mind? After all, rock crawlers are eletric. I also wonder if the E-Savage can be mad ultra-flexible like your run-of-the-mill rock crawler?

BitHed -> RE: HPI E-Savage (8/20/2006 1:43:49 PM)

...Gee...Damn shame that no-one has anything GOOD to say in this thread...YES it looks LIKE the E-Zilla because it IS the E-Zilla...Thats a no-brainer...And not tough? Gee ok then...I wont bother you with my girly-sissy comments then...Sorry, a BIG shout out to all the girly-sissies on the planet...My bad [>:]

HerrSavage -> RE: HPI E-Savage (8/20/2006 1:49:13 PM)

Well, the E-zilla is surely tougher than the Savage X anyway..

I just find it thoroughly deplorable that HPI had to go the Savage name by slapping on a truck that is blatantly NOT a Savage..(it's 1/10 for fxxx sake..)

BitHed -> RE: HPI E-Savage (8/20/2006 3:49:20 PM)

...I have no intention of 'selling' anyone on the E-Savage but I do have some thoughts to share...

...I really dont think that HPI has 'sold out' at all...The 'mini' Inferno from KYOSHO and the 'mini' LST are testaments to that...The MINI-ZILLA is an abhorrance IMO...But thats another rant ;)

...The Savage is 1:8 yes, but the E-Savage at 1:10 isnt THAT far off the size of it...same shox and same rims and tires...In all honesty you wouldn't WANT a ground-up EP vehicle to BE that big and chunky...Hell i get as much a kick out of the EP conversions as everyone else but there is something to be said for HPI to make the EFFORt to get the globally loved Savage to the EP masses...Albeit an effort to de-throne Mr. E-Maxx...

...Toughness-wise I think ANY hardcore GP user would be reasonably impressed if they had an open-mind and saw a well-tuned E-Savage in action...I apologise here for the lack of my OWN videos but we have a site FULL of dedicated E-ZILLA / E-SAVAGE users at E-ZILLACOMM....

...We have horror stories for sure...Broken drive shafts and the like, but so does ANY vehicle...We also have some VERY serious users who have built very successful crawlers and full carbon-based trucks so we have our fair share of tinkerers too...

...What i am saying is dont blow the E-Savage off JUST because its not the same size as its GP counterpart, (a'la TRAXXAS), and JUST because it doesnt come stock with a tank of fumes...We may be the ugly cousin from the wrong-side of the tracks but we still know how to party and get as dusty and as beat-up as our 'big brothers' [8D]

HerrSavage -> RE: HPI E-Savage (8/20/2006 4:43:14 PM)

I respect what you're saying - and electrics in general as well(just not my thing personally..), but I only brought up the scale difference to highlite that the "E-Savage" is most absolutely NOT a Savage, and HPI's calling it that is the most cynical and despicable kind of marketing sliminess..

On the one hand yes, it IS good for E-zilla drivers as well as for the new buyers of this truck - maybe to get more option parts out there, etc.., but just w-h-o-r-i-n-g the name like that is a totally cynical move, and seems to fit in with what HPI has been doing in general as of late(X's in the Savage chassis plate - good for marketing BAD for actually driving and bashing the damn things!!!.. ) A real E-Savage would be cool - but it WOULD be the same size, etc.. And I think most electric MT fans would admit they'd like to see one.. Even on the nitro side - there's no reason not to want one.. But this E-zilla with a Savage sticker slapped across the hood is something else..

badboy2 -> RE: HPI E-Savage (8/21/2006 12:40:34 AM)

off topic ..do u know if the batt holder for the ezilla fits the holes of the sav chassis?

f150dan -> RE: HPI E-Savage (8/21/2006 12:48:57 AM)

I'll be gettin one of those as soon as they get in to my LHS. I would have to change the body and probably the tires and wheels, but with the right brushless combo that thing would be awesome.

Revo Eater -> RE: HPI E-Savage (8/21/2006 12:50:06 AM)

JUNK.....dosen't even belong in this forum.

Chronic -> RE: HPI E-Savage (8/21/2006 1:54:54 AM)

I don't have dog in this fight, so don't get on me too hard for this....

--Whatever HPI decides to call a Savage, IS a Savage. They own the rights to the name.

--It's an HPI MT, so it belongs in this forum.

--I can't believe Traxxas fans can be more mature about an EP MT than the HPI guys. THAT is disgusting and a bigger blackeye to us than a smaller EP version of our beloved Savage.

f150dan -> RE: HPI E-Savage (8/21/2006 1:58:53 AM)

Even though it says 1/10th scale, its the same size as a nitro Savage. It uses the same tires, wheels, suspension, diffs, and all that stuff as a regular Savage. The TVP's are changed a little bit to accomodate 2 battery packs and 2 motors, but other then that its the same truck. I can't wait to get one.
