Mike

I agree that the covering may be a challenge. There are a few who have said they would cover as much as needed. Depending on the covering used, parts would have to be built, sent to the guy or guys doing the covering, then sent to the assembler. It would go in a circle. I for one would be happy just to build my designated parts and then send them off to be covered by an expert team member who has volunteered to cover. He would then cover and send his finished part down the line. We would try to keep any one persons parts to a minimum so one person would not get stuck with a bunch of shipping. I have set aside some funds to help with this issue, and may get help elsewhere also to help keep parts moving along down he line. The project should go smooth as long as nobody bites off more than they can chew, and as long as the team utilizes each members strong suites. For example, if you had me cover the Plane, it would not look great. I build good, but my covering leaves something to be desired. So I admit my strong points and admit my weak points, and will only do what I know I can do well for the build. If everybody does what they do best, then I don't see there being much trouble ending up with a great looking Plane that is built well!

Also during the build process, people will post photos of the parts they are building. Team members may have suggestions to make once they see photos of one anothers pieces. For example, a suggested might be made that that part should have some reinforsement here or there, or maybe that part should be sheeted or not sheeted, etc. etc.

Ok, HOLD ON! You guys are putting the cart before the horse!

We need to put, that "Poor Horse",,,On,,,, the cart ...

Now we got the cart, "ON",that Poor Ol` Horse....LOL ....WE haven`t had ,any members sign since,SUPER T on the 19th of August,4 days ago..Ckroo ;how about,if you P.M everyone, that hasn`t voted yet.We can tally up, who wants to build What, that way..Only thing is, it should be,1 vote per person. That way ,we can take the Cart, Off the Horse.. ..For Charities.I`m sure there`s nothing stopping, RCU administration from adding, 1 charity more, to their list.,If we come up ,with something different,as a Group, from, what they are currently listing. We can cross that bridge next.I would like to see the money go to something involve people, and, international, maybe. Global....I like the idea ,of a Framed certificate, of sponsors ,builders ,and, members ..UH,Oh!!I put the Cart ,,,IN,,, the Horse Now...

I am OK with the Animal charities myself, my wife works for a Vet and we have personally adopted 35+ animals, mostly cats and we do have a house full I know how expensive it is to take care of that many animals and the cost of Vet bills. approx 25% of our animals have medical issue's(why we adopted them) and need special care and medication. Even with the wife's discount we spend over 2K a year in vet bills alone. Hmmm maybe I qualify as a charity

My son is 14 and he wants to be a Vet. The thought of what school is going to cost is enough to give me a headache!!! We could always sell the plane and donate it towards his college fund!!!

I like the plaque or framed document on the signatures/history thing. It would be a lot easier. As for what model to build, I like either the Bulldog or the Staggerwing, personally. A Stinson might be nice, too, though.

I like the idea of a history report on the build of the plane. If each member tells a short few lines on his/her part of the build. Send it in with the part along with a few pics, Then some one could get a cool plane with a real life history. Built by the RCU crew.

WOW, The RCU Crew.

Only an idea.

I use rag and dope on all my models. Here are some that are either finished, or under construction. Well, I have used automotive finishes too.
