GK, looks great.

I have started stripping my old TH Kaos 40. going to modify the nose similar to what you have. Plan on rotating my engine so to get better fuel flow. That was an issue last season, was running .46 w/ tuned pipe.

Here is a picture before tear down.

Your airplane looks to be in pretty good shape. Why are you tearing it down?

Mine will have a vintage Kraft .61 up front. The "nose-job" I gave it looks pretty good with a spinner in place (see photo on previous page). This is the part when I get pretty motivated... It's starting to look like an airplane. Weather will be an issue from here on out. Can't paint with epoxy 2-part paint in a cold garage.

Very nice work Juggernaut. I like your inspirational poster as well

I saved your pics to give ME some inspiration should I ever get the time and gumption to dig the plans out to build another Kaos. It would be my 4th.

I went from an enya 45 to the OS LA in the 40 size models and by planning where the gear went in had not troubles with the light motor and the CofG. Matt

FWIW, a Fox Stunt .35's muffler bolts right up to the LA .40/.46's. I've found that sawing the back half off the Fox muffler to where there's about a 1/2-5/8" outlet makes for a noticeable improvement in the LA's power. Its louder, but the perf boost was significant. The stock OS muffler is very restrictive and rather heavy. The tricked out Fox muffler was about 3/4oz lighter than a stock OS.

Getting that Tower Kaos ready for the spring. Almost complete. Used an Horizon Hobby 0.40 engine mount in place of the original mount. Slightly longer allowing the use of a OS 46LA to clear the front of the fuselage. Hope the covering holds up for a few years.

Just replaced the tired Super Tigre G-75 in my Killer Chaos with a new G-90. Transferred the big Perry carburetor (never even opened the bag for the stock carb), fuel pump and tuned muffler as well. Flew it two days ago and the engine ran like a champ. The vertical performance is amazing and constant speeds are very easy to manage - the engine just does it so easily. Running a 12 x 8 Top Flite Power Prop for break-in period, then will go to a XOAR 13 x 8. Still can't believe how well the Chaos flies.

Hope this is appropriate for this thread... I am acquiring this plane from a source that does not knopw the name of the kit or plane. To me it sorta looks like a Kaos but the tailplane is different. I am hoping to be able to fly this at NECPO events eventually in Novice.

Any ideas what this plane could be? Has a OS 35 on it.
SortaKaos?

Thanks
Paul

Paul,

Nice sport plane but note that the wing is rather different from that of a Kaos. That's what will make this plane fly rather differently. It looks to have lots of dihedral on it too. A real Kaos might make the job a little easier on rolls and loops.

My mere 1c worth.

David

I have some updated pics too, but I'm not allowed "inspirational" posters.

The airframe of my Tower Kaos 60 kit is now ready for installation of the engine, LG, and radio. This is the kit that I acquired without plans and even after a couple of months of searching, never did find a set of plans and building instructions. I ended up using pieces of several old magazine articles as my only source of information. This is my first Kaos! Power will be a Kraft .61 that I bought new way back when. It's a very low running time engine that's been looking for work for a lot of years.

Great looking Kaos 60, love the color scheme.

The weather was great today, used a vacation day and went flying. Had finished my ARF Kaos modification and flew it today.
This plane always puts a smile on my face. Yet to fab a tuned pipe mount, flew today with stock muffler.

Someday I have to build a large Kaos.

It's the canopy that came with the kit. It was even tinted that sort of orange color by whoever produced the kit for Tower.

Falcon,

I'm going to put a Spektrum DX7 in this one. With some luck and good weather, this should be flyable by Sunday. I'm hoping to make it to Knoxville for the SPA contest in May.

Hey guys,
finally relocated to indy, took a break from rc for a year, was busy getting divorced and ****,
so far i have the big chaos from bluejay kits airframe built with a moki 2.10 installed,
Just wanted to know if any other kaos peeps have this bird flying in the air?
My intention is to push this bird hard at muncie, with 80 0z torque regular futaba servos, using my futaba 2.4 radio. No retracts or anything fancy, maybe ill go with a larger capacity onboard nicad for extra juice when pulling those hi speed knife edges.....
