Just a quick FWIW as it seems this thread is pretty much dead.
While stripping the fuse/tail on the Kaos the covering came off very easy. Today I did the wing.
I took notice on the wing the joints between the red and white covering had a milky look. I feel that are sealing it to some degree at the factory now. The black/yellow pinstripe comes right off with heat. The red and white did come off pretty easily but there is a sticky residue left on the wing. I feel again at the factory they are spraying the wing with something to help the covering stay put.
All good things if you want the factory covering to stay on. I do think you better seal the pin stripes with something or they will be gone right quick.

Ron,
Thanks for for your response. So, the Super Tigre G51 puts out as much as Fox Eagle... humm. I am new to pattern, so I am assuming that the Fox Eagle is like a typical engine used back in the late 70's through 80's? I ran a quick experimant this past weekend and got the following:
Here is the kick. The Super Tigre G51 weights in at 18oz. with muffler and any of the typical new .61s (nothing exotic) will tip the scale at 24 oz. So, ther is 1/2 lb difference on just the engine alone. Now with the G51 I can use a smaller fuel tank (10 to 12 oz.) and still have the same flight time as a .61 with (14 to 16 oz), more weight savings and the engine profile is samller more compact... It start to sound pretty good. I am curently flying a Tower Kaos .60 with the MDS swing a MA 11x7, but the plane is heavy at least 7.5 lb. (dry) using 16 oz tank. Looking at the Thrust and HP numbers the G51 looks like a good choice. Thoughts?

Thank You Scott.
I'm dead in the water right now. One of my NIB H 225MG servos was DOA NIB!
FWIW I have decided to extend the Kaos ailerons to 1.5"s and also turn the inside 7"s or so into flaps. The ailerons will be independent on the servos and the flaps will use the factory cinter servo off torque rods.
My hope is extending the ailerons 50% to 1.5"s will increase the roll rate even with the inboard section converted to flaps.
My memory of my Pops Contender slowing for a landing back in the 70s is still stuck in my head!

Tommy: Doesn't surprise me that you had a DOA servo NIB. I bought 4 HS475HB's local and 1 was DOA. Dealer replaced OK. Also bought 4 HS425BB's from Tower and 1 was DOA, also replaced OK. I'm going to buy Hitecs 3 at a time now because the 4th is always dead. Always holds you up in building though.
Those are good number for the G51 and you answered your own question. By the way, per the Fox page that old FOX weights 14 oz. and puts out 11,500 on 11-8 prop. Nothing was say about what type of fuel used (maybe FAI) nor brand of prop (back in those days maybe Rev-Up or Top Flite Super M). The added weight if a muffler should bring that old fox to about the same weight as your G51. Give that Fox some 5 or 10 % fuel and a APC prop, it's numbers on a 11-7 might be just a little off from the G51. Can't really say but I do know you have the better made, user friendly engine, and could/should out do the Fox somewhat. Maybe you should try one of those new OS 55AX. The numbers are even better than the G51 and about the same weight. So have at it and keep us posted.

Had a KAOS moment today....Was in the back yard doing some over due gardening for the second day and not feel very motivated about the job to say the least! Anyway I started to notice around 10am that there was not a breath of wind, into the shed, behind the pattern model my old KAOS which had just recently had a heart transplant with a new OS was beckoning. Down to the field (only ten minutes away) and I had two flights just cruising doing what ever came to mind, spins, rolls etc, flying until the fuel ran out, then gliding in to try to land at my feet. By the time I was back home I had only used up 1.5hours, but the rest of the gardening was a breeze!

I have been cleaning up and organizing the garage and found a classic NIB Bridi Kaos kit out there I had forgotten about....
I used to fly the Kaos in pattern in the late 1970's, a little after it's day in the sun. I never liked the looks of the Super Kaos, the regular Kaos was always my fav. Won a few Novice Pattern events with it in 1976 and 1977.
I mostly do electric these days...thinking about building it up for a big Axi outrunner....

Thomas, I just finished an Original Kaos. I fly at the FW Thunderbird's club, and am puting together a "SPA" pattern contest late March. You should build that bird and come fly with us!

Hey there...I am a T-bird...Tom Blakeney, here. I was at the meeting when you talked about it. I'd love to fly in it, but no time to get it built that fast.
I flew pattern extensively in the late 1970s. Southwestern regionals winner in Novice in 1976, lots of local and regional Novice and Advanced wins with my std Kaos, LHX-1 and then my newfangled Phoenix 7....)

Interesting, I had never seen the original Kaos. Had a nice day in Houston today and had my 25 year old Super Kaos 40/Jr up for a flight. It is funny how so many people think every low wing pattern/sport plane from the 70s is a Kaos. The picture on this post is the Bridi Warlord 40. Does that front cowl look familiar
