Good lord I thought I was dyin. I just got back home and its midnight.3 hours past my bedtime. I had to go with my wife to see a PLAY Oh what doozie. Had to leave about 15 minutes after purolator dropped off my parts and I didnt even get to play with them. I just inspected the new aluminum swash before I headed off to bed to check the forums and wow what a piece of hardware. I think the alum swash is gonna really enhance the response in the cyclic. It feels really tight and smooth. Absolutely no slop at all. Hopefully tomorrow Ill get to put it all back together after I install a dishwasher for my mother in law

Is this swash the one helidirect sells for 32 bucks or the Eflite version?

Psi,

Glad you got your stuff, the swash plate sounds impressive.. Take some pics.
Also, a short movie clip of a flight or two. With that new $600 camera your wife got

Whoever came up with the term "impulse purchase" needs to be dragged out into the street and shot...

I went to the LHS to get pin striping tape and ended up coming back with that plus an aluminum swashplate (Eflite version)...

I mean, hell, I was ALREADY spending 1.99 what was another $38 more right?

Glad you agree...

Anyhoo just got putting the baby together and ... I gotta say...

...I <3 new swashplate...

I figured the CNC head was a ways ways off so I could afford to make a small upgrade now and I have to say - the increase in responsive plus smoothness in the cyclic and collective inputs is quite noticeable. There's still a tiny bit of slop but that's coming from the plastic joints but I'd have to say it's a nice improvement handling wise overall.

So I packed up my bag, heli, and take-off/landing pad and headed to the park. Took one step outside and it started pouring

sad panda...

Oh well back to G3 I guess...

will this upgrade help keep my BCP at a more constant altitude? mine seems to want to yo-yo a bit- stock set-up. other than that it flies great- very steady.

I honestly dont know. I havent had a chance to fly it yet but I think its gonna improve cyclic input for sure. Its so much tighter and smoother than the stock swash I think it will ride up and down the main shaft smoother as well , making pitch changes smoother. I got it at HeliDirect for I think 32 dollars. My LHS sells it for 48 bucks so I snapped it up fast lol The swash and super landing gear is about the only big upgrades Ive done and I think Ill be happy with them.

lol The reason I tossed it was because I had both motors on the desk and thought I had just removed it from the heli. Knowing the 1 on the heli was bad I just tossed it. Wasnt the bad 1

My CP used to yo-yo pretty bad, till I installed the aluminum swash, I noticed a huge difference.
