Damn Reiko, after all this time?

You were the "Great White Hope" for the nitro nation.

Well, the quest continues.

That sucks, I would have really liked to see that get completed. Why not finish it in a less complicated way? No offense but it was very over engineered (which is what I liked about it believe it or not) and I think with a standard rock crawling steering setup, and a four stroke with fan cooling it could easily be finished.

What are you planning on doing with it?

I know, it sounds ridiculous.

I engineered the truck in such a manner to make it a challenge. I knew at the outset that few people would understand the reasoning, but not everyone can be pleased. In short, I built it for me. It's just going to sit, covered and clean.

As for what to do, I think the best idea is to periodically comment here as I have. That's all.

Let us move along...

This might seem silly, but I have decided to make the shocks as originally planned and then let it sit. The blue T-Maxx shock bodies are irritating me to no end, and if it is going to be on a shelf it must look acceptable

I'm curious Reiko. What are your other RC interests and what do you currently have ? Any new projects ?

The only other project I have left is a TA02. I found a Clod body that had been modified into a Blazer, and decided to shorten the chassis of the truck to fit it. I sawed the chassis in half and removed 1 7/8" from the length. The driveline was shortened to fit and that's about as far as it went. I did that work last year. I'd like to get a Dark Impact to screw around with, and also an electric heli, but they just don't seem likely in the short term.

The time just isn't there anymore. It seems that my RC-related work has been reduced to posting here.

Do you wish to build a fuel rig, or electric? This thread is only pertaining to the nitro drive ideas.

Most members who design and build their own rig are not likely going to share the details. You can look around in some of the threads, or search within this forum using keywords such as 'custom' or 'home built'. Depending upon the type of drive you plan to use, there are many options for both a layout and suspension setup. For example, if you want to use a single motor and tranny to solid axles, you'll find that the most common will be a TLT-based rig. On the other hand, you can use a dual motor system like a Clodbuster. Both have their advantages. Look around at some of the builds within this forum and you'll see quite a few different types and designs.

As for this discussion, keep it nitro-related.

Good luck!

That would be a tremendous amount of power. You will need some strong drivetrain parts and differentials. Maybe 1/5 or 1/4 scale. My truck has 1/8 scale diffs, and I was worried about breaking them with only a 1 inch nitro engine
