Ok cool. Thanks for the tip - I'll have to check that out.

Also, I have been seeking some type of small clutch that operates similar to a 1:1 clutch in that it can be fully disengaged via a servo or stepper. If anyone has any leads to this type of clutch on a small scale, please post some information.

I have been testing a couple of 24V electromagnetic clutch systems, but they seem to be underpowered for use with a nitro engine.

That "crawler" from RC Car Action was a joke! We ripped ol Matt Higgins for even suggesting that that POS was a crawler. It struggled on terrain that a 1.9 CC-01 based scale rig could walk w/o issue.

Keep trying fellas.

We're not all fellas, but thank you for the inspirational words.

You'll see when I break out my hybrid/nitro/electric/steam/fusion reactor-powered supercrawler! I'm going to be the first on the block!

Seriously, though, I understand where you're coming from. So far, we have yet to see something effective in this category.

You should feel blessed. Someone has to tell the truth about "Nitro" crawlers.

I'll give you this- you certainly stand your ground. I trust this isnt the only thing you are annoyingly confident about? anyway, enough about your personality, lets put your noodle to work- where can i get a list of "comp legal" rules? such as wheelbase, body dimentions, etc, etc.....

Hello.

Was just having a leaf through this thread and a question sprang to mind, not sure if it has been answered anywhere (it is extremely noobish). On a nitro crawler how do you over come having a clutch? As in how do you stop the truck rolling down off a rock etc. Do you set crazy amounts of drag brake? Or do you have a one way bearing system somewhere that only allows the transmission to go forward?

Cheers to anyone who replies.

Adam

Truth hurts sometimes and the truth is that nitro and crawling don't mix.

Looks like the Dogman beat me to the USRCCA rules.
