As I have been looking to replace my CX, I have been seeing some electric helis that are FP (Fixed Pitch), and some that are Cyclic/Collective Pitch. Does one have an advantage over the other. I now that co-axials are limited to regular flying - no inverted, etc...

Thanks!

well all FP heli are limited to this. they are the best trainers because are usually really tough, durable, low parts, cheap to repair. They are also confined to regular flying like you said. you can go inverted(not recomended) but its never pretty at the end. so stick to mormal flying.

CCPM helis are capable of going inverted because of the blade pitch. they can only be flown with computer radios that are capable. the radio mixes three servos to work together to give you forward, back, left, right, up, and down. the radio can be programmed to have at mid stick 0 pitch, then at high stick have +10 and low stick have -10. this will allow you to go inverted. the throttle can be changed with a switch. called Idel Up, this can be programmed to give the throttle a curve of 100, 95, 90, 95, 100. or something like this. alot of flyers use different curves to suit their flying style. this is also very important for going inverted.

but in my opinion CCPM helis are easier to fly just harder to setup. they will also help you progress faster because they are not limited like FP helis.
