I wouln't mind an older WWI tank model just to be different. I had a mark V static once upon a time.

Man, these are really great pics... thanks.

Remember an old Laurel and Hardy film where they were fighting in the trenches and somehow got ahold of a tank? I think it was one of these French Renaults. One of them was stuck in a hatch and accidently captured gobs of Germans with a bunch of barbed wire.

I think an older tank would be fun. I'm not sure how effective they were relative to traction, etc. but it would be fun to build one.

I wonder if that is the American version of the F-17? US did make their own version from the Renault around WWI.

Looking at the first picture, which I'm afraid I was too rushed to read concerning this particular tank, it would suggest it was made in France - somehow ended up in Afganistan and then on to Kentucky. I will find out for you the next time I visit.

WOW! I actually remember the article that 2 of these were found in Afganistan and were slated for museum in the US! Must be one of those I read about a few months ago:

Thanks for showing those pics.

This is why I still come to this forum - good work man. Really interesting and I'm quite sure this is one of them. I may have pictures of the other one as well - I took over 100. Thanks again

For some reason I seem to remember reading another description of this one - it may be a 17 even - or it may be the other one they spoke of.

Can you imagine fighting in that thing? Bumpy to say the least.
