Hi Big Al !

Thanks for reply.

To confirm- Length of h/w blk to run between mid rib #1 and rib #2 and glued onto top & bottom spars ( In fact to ply dihedral braces ) ? How wide should blk be ?

For top wing TE i would do the same but blk to be front of 1/2 " spar ?

Top wing mounting screw is done bottom up so won't see any heads on top of wing ?

Antique, nice planes. Now I'm going to start building floats also. What props are you using with the G 26 engine. Looks like an APC. I'm using a 25 cc Homie and a 16/8 Zinger wood or a 16/8 MA composit. Pulls good but doesn't want to slow down.

Vick use 3/4" square blocks. This is to allow room for the 1/4" bolt and tap. Glad to hear you are to that stage in the build. You're going to love this plane.

big al, ya fuse & tail done...nice! Got pics of it but don't know how to insert in forum.

Re. blk position on rear od Leading edge spars, isn't this too close to TE blk position ( narrow ) ?

Why not put them front of TE. Please advice.

Man this post really brought back some memories. The 76" LazyAce was my first non-sig
airplane. There is a guy in our club who built 13 of them. All just a little bit diffrent. Mine
was the 13th and was dressed up like a D-VII. I think mine flew best of the 13. Ailerons
on the top wing and an Enya R120 for power. Sadly, that airplane is gone, victim of a base-
ment flood some years ago. But, you all have inspired me to fly the Ace again!

It just has to be done.

Victor either front or back side of the spar will work out fine. I went to the back side because the top of the wing was flatter there or had less of an angel to insert the bolts. You are inserting the bolts from the bottom so this is a moot point. Keep up the good work and try to send pictures when you can. Sorry I can't as my camera was stolen a few months back and I haven't had time to look for anorher one.

Hi Victor - the moot point I was referring to is the fact that your bolts will be coming into the wing from the bottom so you don't have to worry about looking for the flattest spot on top of the wing for the bolt heads to seat. Bolting from the bottom eleminated that problem.

Thanks guys,

O these bolt on ideas are driving me crazy! BBBBBBut I am sticking to it as it will look good !Now that I have settled the wing itself I've got to design the top wing mount on the Centre cabanes. Will look at a friend's Miniplane bipe plan to get a better idea.
