I have read there is a difference between nicd & nimh chargers. Yet I have also read there is no difference. SOMEBODY please give me the low down on nimh as thats the way I want to go. Can I use my exsisting chargers?

As far as I know, they're charged the same way, but the problem stems from trying to determine when the pack is fully charged.

As NiCd's and NiMH cells reach a full charge, there's a point where the battery's voltage actually drops a little bit. This is how these delta-V chargers determine when to stop. This tendency is more pronounced in NiCd's, so some chargers designed for NiCd's will fail to detect when the NiMH battery is fully charged, and will overcharge it. Some chargers will have timers so they can eventually stop even if they fail to detect the peak. Those should be fine even if they don't say they're for NiMH's. Don't forget to set the timer. (or enter battery capacity)
